Wow. Look like this Is hellbents third year brewing. This beer is awesome. Packs flavors of a double into the frame of a single in terms of ingredients and abv. Rivers of rich, syrupy tropical tang and aromatics lace this brew from the tip of the first sip to the gut with the last gulp.

Opaque haze, blushes oranges, Buzzing half in, pulpy, frothy head. What's in this stuff?

Smells and tastes at first like fresh OJ Simpson fresh out of Florida. Then the pine and resin jump in, followed by an exotic array of masterfully blended and utilized fruit.

Feel could use some elbow grease though is still excellent. Maybe some oats?

Overall a perfect citra IPA showcase in the hazy style. Fearsomely done.

I had this beer on-tap in a nonic at the brewery.

Appearance: medium orange hue with a moderate haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam with good head retention and a decent lace. I like it!

Smell: lightly citrusy hop aroma with a little bit of sweetness. not bad!

Taste: relatively grainy malt flavor with a good citrusy hop flavor. There's plenty of bitterness in the mix, rough it remains balanced. It's not perfect, but it comes together pretty well.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess for the style. Quite good!

Overall: a decent IPA. Not mind-altering, but a solid outing.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a two finger white head with good retention and thick lacing; looks good. Aroma of mildly caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, orange and lemon citrus, pine needles, a little spicy, also good. Flavor is caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, orange, lemon and lighter dried tropical and stone fruit, hints of earthy spices. Finishes with mostly piney hops with citrus notes and the same interesting spiciness lingering. Nice moderately creamy body with a good mouth feel. I think they under sold this with the Citra name, because the hops bill is more complex than pure citra and very much to my taste. Expecting mostly citrus, I did end agreeing with Dang! Better than expected and some of the other hops are really producing a dense spiciness that really sets this apart. This is my second IPA from Hellbent, after a fresh hop Amarillo last year, and I'm realizing I have to pay more attention to them; I really liked both. They are apparently canning now, and hopefully will get their brew out to a greater audience. This is well rounded and great drinking.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on August 2, 2018. Brewed with Bravo, Citra, Equinox and Falconers Flight 7C hops. Notes of citrus fruit, pine and a hint of spice.

Totally beautiful beer, the golden amber liquid topped by an exuberant pile of foam in the New Belgium snifter. Sudsy on the tongue and melts in your mouth. Endless citrus aroma with a whiff of honeysuckle. Medium body.

Flavors of lime peel and mango. Malty but not too sweet, hoppy but not too bitter. Just a little grapefruit peel in the aftertaste. This is bold but balanced. This is such a nice surprise. Yet another local brewery I've never heard of making an excellent beer. From the 16 oz can purchased at Central Market.

Golden amber color with three fingers of Manila folder-colored head and strong effervescence. Thick webbed lacing.

Clementines, some white pepper and distant herbs in the nose.

A little light citrus up front in the taste, along with a sturdy caramel malt backbone and fairly strong pine hop bitterness and pepperiness sticking through the aftertaste. There’s a medicinal herbs-and-alcohol bite in there, too.

Heavy bodied for a single IPA with an almost syrupy feel despite the strong carbonation.

Definitely on the West Coast end of the IPA spectrum, which I tend to find refreshing these days. Not necessarily the best Citra showcase, but still fun to drink.

16oz can poured into 14oz teku. Poured an opaque, dirty amber/orange color with over a half-inch of off-white head that had moderate retention and good lacing.

Very little malt or grain in the scent, mostly muted citrus hops. Pretty similar on the tongue, but the hops are brighter, and leave a bit of bitter, lingering aftertaste.

The body was medium, maaayybeee a touch on the fuller side than the lighter side. Drinkability was fine, my can was gone soon enough. Overall, a pleasant enough brew, worth a shot if you see it.
