Not sure if old or not that good. Malty, there are some hops (mainly citrus with a slightly earthy flavor) but they do not come through enough. It misses the mark.

A better than average IPA. Could use more malt for balance, but the hop profile was pleasant.

Cabin Stop - Hayward, WI

SuperKind is bright golden. Polished, bright 24kt as a matter of fact. It's especially bright when backlit but does show a soft haze throughout. A couple streams of carbonation float to the surface keeping the foam intact. A dirty white head a finger in height adorns the body on the pour with an admirable staying power. Lace clings in robust drink lines down the glass.

The nose follows through on the 'bright citrus…bold hop characters" claim. Apricot and orange dominate the nose. The apricot is sweet and juicy while the orange is both sweet and pith-y, even candied peel is noticeable. Pine needles run through the backend. A soft waft of clean alcohol and a simple, yet appreciated grain bill make up the base. The grain bill consists of fresh barely and a slight doughiness.

The flavor profile follows the nose but with more refined, clean edges. Orange dominates in its many forms while the apricot pops up here and there adding welcomed depth. The orange is zest-y up front before segueing into sweeter marmalade, then onto pith on the finish. Pine is an undercurrent, adding a touch of vibrant earthiness. Alcohol is soft, clean, and complimentary. The barley base is fresh and clean. I'm a fan!

The body is moderate in weight, maybe even a touch higher, but it's velvety smooth with a plush feel. Carbonation is on the low end of the spectrum, which helps with that feel. Bitterness grows with each drink to a firm moderate while the drying finish from the alcohol accentuates that bitterness. This is an easy sipper.

SuperKind is a good, new to the shelves, Wisconsin beverine. It's heavy on the orange hop notes with an undercurrent of pine. It's plush and drinkable. It has a lot of the characteristics that Two Hearted does, which is a compliment in my book. I'd surely pick this up again while in the Northwoods.

Really liked this beer, nice not to have another fruit bomp IPA. Slight bitterness detracted a bit, but a good dank IPA. Gets a bit more floral as it warms.
