This is now called coldfoot pilsner.

A nice yellowy orange. Darker than I expected with a good fluffy white head. Darker, not really darker, but gloomier than I expected. Smell is of graininess and kind of slightly fruity. taste is quite good with good pilsnery graininess. A nice crisp flavor, and there is a touch of fruit flavor in here. A good carbonated mouthfeel, and great drinkability. I am actually quite impressed with this pilsner, a good lagery refresher. I had some mustard today made with this in it at the great alaska sportsman show that was fantastic. A good refreshing brew.

This was poured into a flared pilsener glass. The appearance was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Light lacing stuck thin around the glass. The smell started off somewhat grassy and grainy with an ample amount of sweet corn and then a light sweet bread. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine mainly sweet and somewhat grassy. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a smooth capability of gracing my tongue adequately. This was definitely sessionable. Overall, for a pilsener this was pretty good and I would recommend to pilsener lovers.

Silver Gulch Pilsner
On draft at the Reluctant Fisherman Restaurant in Cordova, Alaska

Appearance: straw, medium-small head, and good lacing.

Smell: grains and slight corn.

Taste: well balanced grains and malts with faint hops.

Mouthfeel: medium-light.

This isn't a bad brew. It's rather average, but is well crafted.

Tasted on draft at the brewery tap in Fox, Alaska.

Pours a beautiful golden color, with a lovely white head. Nice aroma, redolent with noble hops.

Crisp and clean on the palate, with the appropriate amount of bitterness. Nice finish.

A classic Bohemian Pilsner-syle beer, wonderfully drinkable and refreshing.

The head began as a big, rocky, bubbling mass of bone-white foam that settled into a finger of marshmallow-fluf like head which finally just sat down entirely. Color was a magnificent golden yellow, like sunshine in a glass. Nose had a pretty good snap to it, quite Saaz-like. Mouthfeel was medium with a nice hoppy crispness on the tongue. Finish had the slight sweetness associated with GER pilsners. Really well done.

Cellar temperature in my tulip. What? Not cold enough?! What do you think people did back in the old west when they went to da saloon, huh? "Duh, gimme an ice cold beer, duh." Bartender'd just laugh. Maybe scoff even. Ye ain't gettin' no beverage colder than a cellar, or colder than six feet under da earth (which is where yer lucky not to be). Spoiled kids these days. Sheeeeeshz, man! Sheeshz.

Now there isn't much in the way of head. But what there is is this: a golden gold of grand clarity. That's enough, isn't it?

Aroma... malt's in business... hops in business. A sweetness akin to buttered bread containing lemon zest. You've missed out on something if you aren't knowing of this smell.

The flavor is integrated, German, and gives me all I could ask for in a lager of this nature. Cascades of fresh lemonade-like waterfalls showering upon a pond redolent with minerals and perhaps littered with fragrant grass or equivalent plant-matter. You know... something green. With chlorophyll. A finish of bread. Bread that you KNOW was made with yeast. Not that BS soda bread.

This one has fabulous feel animating it a great deal. Its carbonation is high, but with a smoothness I can't deny.

A German pilsner brewed in my hometown, that pays pure tribute to my German roots. I am pleased and oh so proud.

12oz bottle, labeled "Coldfoot Pilsener", courtesy of lakersfan16 poured into a pint glass.

Pours a clear straw yellow with a short lived collection of bubbles on the top that recede to nothing quickly and leave no lacing. Not the most appetizing beer honestly.

The aroma is very mild and sweet with a buttery light malt sweetness dominating with a little bit of other light fruits and some grains as well.

The taste has an initial toasted grain presence that gives way to the sweet light malts and fruit. The finish is clean and dry with only the faintest hint of hops.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy for the style with some soft carbonation.

This is fairly sweet version of a pilsener and extremely drinkable.

Appearance is clear pale gold with faint white skim leaving faint lace.

Smell is light sweetness, chalky, a touch of sulfur. Bready.

Taste is very crisp, mineral-laden, clean bright cereals. Sweet but clean.

Mouthfeel is dry, crisp but not sharp. Light but not thin.

Drinkability is good, a crisp quaffer. Dig the minerals.

Golden color, with a very small head, even after a hard pour. Nose had a distinct noble-hop aroma, though not pronounced enough. Remarkably good body, and quite smooth for a pils. Some sweetness initially, but bitter hops take over the rest of the ride, and linger for a bit. Faint citrus traces try to make themselves known.

12 oz bottle that appeared in a suprise box I got last night. This one reads "Coldfoot Pilsner" on the bottle. Served up in a pint glass.

A: This is pretty par for the course. Got a crystal clear, golden yellow in color. Held to the light, this beer doesn't have much color to change really. Carbonation is a little slower than anticipated. A normal pour got me about a finger and a half of bright white head. Sadly, it falter pretty quickly and disappears to nothing. Looked great when I poured it, but I just wish it would have held on to that look for just a little while longer.

S: Smell is lightly sweet with a slightly fruity aroma (citrus maybe?). Behind that its some decent malt character and a light hopping. Other than that it just has a slight buttery quality to it.

T: Pretty much exactly like the nose. A little sweeter than I expected but this is a good thing. Nice malt presence with that light hopping. Beginning to think that citrus flavor is coming from the hops. Not getting any of that buttery quality in the flavor, which is fantastic. Just clean with a good amount of flavor.

M: Light in body as expected and wanted. Good amount of carbonation here keeping this beer nice and crisp. Alcohol is light and doesn't even make itself known. Kinda shocked its over 5%. Aftertaste is just a barely lingering sweetness.

D: I wouldn't mind having this on hand in the fridge at all. Easily a good, easy drinking beer perfect for watching the game or cooling off after working in the yard. Highly drinkable and disappears quickly, just what I want from my pilsners. Nice beer.

On-tap at Humpy's in Anchorage. Called Coldfoot Pilsner Lager, but checking the website, this is the same beer.

Deep straw yellow. Small, off-white head that doesn't last very long. Light honey, clean malt, some hay. Not enough snappy hops for me. Taste starts with mealy malts with light honey sweetness up front. Dash of cardboard. Subdued citrus and sea funk hop flavor. Not terrible, just fairly bland and even a little off/old. Light-bodied, with a naturally krausened feel. Meh.

This is a very clean drinkable beer, let's start with that. It pours a light straw amber. Smell is a light grain. Taste is a very light malty brew that goes down very easy. Compared to most pilseners, this is a very balanced considering it may have a slight more punch. I could easily drink a sixer, very glad I threw out my underwear to jam this 6-pack in my suitcase.
