Fort Bragg is a not yet gentrified fishing port. For us European visitors to the US it's a great enactment of a road movie to rent a sports car and drive Highway 1 north from San Francisco to Fort Bragg, stay the night at a cheap motel, get breakfast at Egghead's, cross over to Russian River through the redwood forest, and speed back to the Bay Area. After that long, winding and scenic coastal drive North Coast Brewing Company Taproom & Grill is just the right place to wind down. Already at the parking lot I could see that I wasn't the only one who had fallen for it. Inside there were a number of single guys trying to look like they just stepped out of Paris, Texas. The crowd seemed to be a mix of tourists and locals. Can't say that I was impressed by the food although it was good enough. But the beer selection included some excellent brews, especially Scrimshaw Pilsner, with the bread-o-meter revved up to the red. I have a soft spot for that. Don't miss the circuit if you happen to come to SF and have two days to spare.

Very poorly set up. You have to buy your food and drinks in the gift shop.....weird. Your food purchase is made before you even know if your gonna be able to find a table. No waiter, means no service. Have fun running down your own silverware, napkins, condiments etc. I only ordered one beer because I wasn’t gonna wait in the gift shop line a 2nd time. Food was poor and overpriced, greasy and not well done. Extremely disappointing from a brewery known for quality drinks. There is another brewing company just up the street that had a much better vibe.

Terrible service. I came here on a Sunday night. Holiday, if Father's Day is a holiday. They were busy but not crowded. I waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, I reached a point where I realized there wasn't anything on tap that excites me enough to continue waiting. Maybe next time.

Place is run down and in serious need of some updating. Old red carpet throughout dining area was stained all over and seats had big rips covered with tape. No barrel-aged beers were on tap so selection was limited to what you could find in any store but the berliner-weiss passionfruit peach was delicious!!! The food was pretty good too. But no growler fills? That's no bueno and I can't give em a pass on that cuz there's really no excuse in this day and age. Meh not really impressed

I love North Coast beers as much as the next guy, but this place was pretty average. The food was pretty good, and I'm sure the vibe is better during other times of the year. Also, I would have liked to be able to see inside the brewery, but I understand they are massively busy recently due to their new Costco contract. However, Mendocino county is beautiful and is worth a visit.

Fifth stop on my 2017 Summer Tour. Third time I've been here, coulda sworn I'd reviewed it before.
Full bar in addition to their beers on tap. Only a couple of beers on tap that are exclusive (cherry, peach and cranberry Berliner Weiße). I had the four deer sampler. Bar was about half full at 5pm on a Thr. Friendly staff who bent the rules for my pup (much appreciated).
Decent enough overall but not really worth a trip out of your way to get here. The drive up 128 & 1 is amazing though, highly recommended.

Had pulled pork nachos.... Yum yum yum! Excellent servers as well! If you aren't excited to visit this pub, you are jaded! Excellent beer with a great pedigree! I'm from south of Pittsburgh and so having great beer just a stones throw from the Pacific Ocean is spectacular!

Ambiance: Good place
Service: took some time before we were able to get the servers attention, long time to get bill- slow and confused
Selection: Good beer selection
Value: a bit pricey food
Overall: beers are good but not the food

Amazingly beautiful locale in Fort Bragg, CA, this is pretty much like most of the town, right on the seashore.
Always a little chilly here, no matter what time of year.
Selection is the same stuff on the shelf at Safeway. Food is far more expensive than the quality. The staff generally don't know much about the beers. Or why there are no brewpub only selections more often than not.
Bar is real cool decor wise as well, but ultimately, their gift shop is expensive, their food is expensive, nothing to see here. I'll always like Red Seal and Old Raspy, but damn if there isn't any reason to go to this place.

Back in the day this was a required stop when motorcycling up/down the coast. A red seal ale or an old #38 stout with a bowl of dirty rice and beans always hit the spot. Then on to the campground at Manchester beach.

A very scenic and very relaxing drive through redwood forests and then one comes out right on the coast. A good place to go to on the north coast, with a very good selection of beers!

Very cool spot in downtown Fort Bragg. Food here is amazing, oysters and fish and chips are my favs.
Not a huge lineup of beers but what they do, they do very well.
Also never any brewery exclusives or one-offs. Don't even have BA Old Rasputin on tap.
All their beers you can buy in the store, so the only reason to come here if for the restaurant.

So this place is a bit on the pricey side but you really do get what you pay for. The location is amazing, situated just feet from the Pacific Ocean. The town of Fort Bragg has this strange sense of community and when I walked in to the brewery I felt that same sense of community. There were all different types of people and they were all friendly and quick to start a conversation. This brewery makes the best dark and malty bold beers that I've had.
Cheers
