A: This beer pours dark brown with hints of red. The large light brown head is rather compact and thick. Dissipates at a medium pace, leaving some lacings.
S: Roasted sweet malt, with bitter hops and some fruityness - cherries.
T: Roasted sweet malt. Some dark dried fruits. Bitter hops in the back. Kind of chocolaty.
M: Aftertaste lasts for quite some time and holds a nice balanced bitterness. Body is medium to full and carbonation is medium and smooth.
D: This is probably the best beer I've had with the label "Mariestad". As a x-masbeer combined with the swedish x-mas smorgasbord highly recommended.

The color of the beer is dark brown, the foam beige and leaves little on the glass.
The smell is malty, notes of dried grass, Sweet non distinguishable tones, some toffee maybe.
The taste is sweetish, but almost bland, some malty notes here as well.
A mild or weak carbonation with small bubbles.
If used with a traditional Swedish Christmas smorgasbord it might work well as it won't dominate.

The colour is clear, dark red-brown. The beige compact, firm foam is two finger thick.
The smell is quite weak; there are notes of sweet malt and some bitter hops. Overall, the smell is quite neutral.
The carbonation is rather mild with small bubbles.
The taste is somewhat burned with some flavours of dark bread, neutral bitter hops and a touch of salt. The aftertaste is pretty long with a simple bitter-burned tone.
This beer got some nice looks, but not much more.
