Coming in a 500ml can, BB 25/03/2014, served moderately chilled in a straight imperial pint glass.

Appearance: dark straw to pale golden in colour, it pours a thick and tight creamy white head with very good retention, on top of rather lively flows of fine carbonation.
Smell: lightly grassy and sweet grainy-malty at the same time, underlined by fine acidity from the doughy notes and faint lemons, while not much hint of strong alc. is picked up upfront. Simple, but not sickly or alcoholic.
Taste: lightly rough on the texture, softly carbonated, the foretaste is gristy-malty with a semi-warming kickback emerging almost at the same time as the tailing bitterness; the aftertaste has random aroma from the grassy hops and lightly rough bitterness lingering, alongside some lemony touches and very mild warming alc. which never comes too aggressive. Yet, each sip does end with a little “oily” or “tongue coating” kind of mouthfeel, maybe to do with the residual sugary content.
Mouthfeel & Overall: clean on the palate for a 7.5%abv. strong pale lager, the carbonation is well tuned to make it easy drinking and not too fizzy, while the body retains its medium+ calibre throughout the drink. This strong pale lager is decently crafted, not as sickly sweet or adjunct-rich like many other bad examples. But there’re not much flavour elements to entertain my palate with, either.

A: Pours pale golden with a medium large white head that quickly dissipates into decent lacings.

S: Grainy and sweet malty. There's an artificial off-smell to it. Faint bitter hops.

T: Sweet bready malt with some alcohol striking trough. Some very faint bitter hops.

M: Short bitter and sweet aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation the same.

D: This is a beer for those consumers that like to get drunk on beer. Taste isn't as important as the quick intoxication...

The colour is yellow with a tint of gold. The large white foam sinks quickly down to a thin layer with some lacing.

The smell is malty with distinct notes of alcohol. There are some sour notes of yogurt and bitter almonds. Not very pleasant.

The taste is a little better; it is very malty with lots of bread-like flavours. Some alcohol, of course but not as much as I expected. Thebody is medium - the bitterness is low. The aftertaste is quite creamy and neutral with lots of malt.s.

The carbonation is average; perhaps the bubbles are a little smaller than they use to be.

Yet another strong Eurolager… Why?
