Solid brew. Refreshing with tropical fruit notes and not heavy for a double. It may be a touch sweeter than I would prefer but it is not cloying. It finishes clean and the feel is not sticky. Great depth of flavors.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/1/2017. Pours very hazy golden orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, orange juice, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange zest, citrus peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. A little muted. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, orange juice, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange zest, citrus peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, orange juice, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9.2%. Overall this is a fantastic NE DIPA. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV; with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very dank, vibrant, and juicy hops; with balanced malts and no residual sweetness. Never heavy feeling. Just a little too bitter/drying on the finish, and not as bold/vibrant on the aromas as I hoped for. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example otherwise.

One of the better DNEIPAs I've had. Roak is quickly becoming one of my top five breweries. Pour is very much the color of pineapple juice, or very light orange juice, and hazy. Lots of juicy goodness found in both flavors and aromas. Mango, pineapple, grape, nectarine, some citrus. Feel is soft and full. Would drink again and again.
