Impressive
Complex
Sweet like others suggested but it finishes somehow dry. The hops are present very late which makes it intriguing. Not sure I would call this balanced. However if you are into Oatmeal stouts this is a must try for Midwesterners. Michigan made and perhaps as good as Founders Breakfeast stout. Glad I found this at my local Ohio liquor mart.
Cheers!

Head did not last very long at all. Smells and tastes great, I'm not sure how they managed to pack that much scent into a beer. My girlfriend said she could smell it across the room a few minutes after I poured the can. Pretty enjoyable.

Can’t really drink two in a row. Just too sweet but really enjoyable one at a time.

Poured that lovely stout black with a tall manilla head.
Aroma was reminiscent of French toast- I kid not. Not pancakes with syrup, French Toast with syrup. Eggs, fried, somehow in there. I suppose it could have been subliminal suggestion, but it surprised me.
The taste followed, with a little coffee bitterness to keep it from being too sweet. It smelled more like French Toast than the flavor, but that’s okay with me as fried egg in beer sounds horrible.
The feel was good, a touch viscous but not overly. Easy to quaff and smooth.
OA, had meant to try this for a while, others just got more attention. Now that I have, I know. It’s good, but I think I prefer the regular Devil Dog from ROAK.

12oz can into a pint glass. Canned 4/20/22, so closing in on 6 months old.

Mixed look here. Black body, but head fizzes out quite quickly, no lacing.

Amazing aroma, just like french toast, only a little overdone.

On tasting, what seemed a little overdone on the nose is more pronounced in the taste. There are good maple and cinnamon flavors.

Mouth medium, finish warming and a little roasty.

Overall, a bit all over the place here. Would prefer less of a roast allowing the sweetness to shine through. Others may appreciate the balance.

Poured from a bottle at fridge temp. Pours black with tan head. Tons of bubbles throughout. The nose is great. French toast all the way. Maple syrup, vanilla, bread, cinnamon, chocolate, and raisins. Maybe a touch of plum. The taste is also great. A mix of sweet and bitter. Maple syrup drenched French toast with vanilla. A nice nutty note, nutmeg, and a bit of cinnamon. A bitter roasted malt note comes through as well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a creamy finish. The aftertaste is mostly maple syrup.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is full of french toast, maple syrup.Taste is the same as the aroma, plenty of roasted malts as well. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a delicious beer worth seeking out.

Slightly late to develop froth which never fully forms a full head before fading... Had it formed it would have been a dark khaki color... Color is a sleek flat black... Nose is a sugar bomb... French toast, brown sugar and molasses dominate... The sweetness follows through to the palate but is subdued as it allows the more traditional oatmeal stout flavors to shine through - roasted malts and hints of chocolate and coffee... The sweetness is very present but it adds loads of depth and complexity... On the fuller side of medium bodied... Sturdy with light carbonation and a bit of a chalky finish... Well rounded and one of a kind... A truly exceptional beer...

Black in color with just a suggestion of light getting through when held up to light. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering nearly all of the top. The aroma is of very sweet maple syrup. I’m tasting very sweet maple syrup and cinnamon with a slightly bitter finish. The mouth is is bone dry.

This is still really tasting but the bourbon barrel one is just a notch above to me, the barrel really rounded out this beer. The OG is pretty good though

A really tasty beer that combines the sweet maple syrup of French toast and some toasty notes to balance. Really nice stout.

This stout has made it through a couple weeks of my drinking and guests. Time to get it out.

It pours oil can black with nice fizz and lacing. The aroma is sweet breakfast sugars and thick boozy stout. The taste i busy with all that french toasty mapleness along with a midland huge stout. It's thick and sweet and sticky.

Recommended. A good breakfast stout.

Dark but not quite black with an ample tan head that dies slowly and laces nicely. Smells of malt, chocolate, maple and smoke. Tastes mildly sweet with a little dark malt bitterness, coffee and chocolate. Not too thick for an oatmeal stout. A very drinkable and delicious stout.
