Sour In The Rye - PeachesSour In The Rye - Peaches
Notes: Sour Rye ale with peaches added. Aged in oak barrels. Deliciously sour, bursting with spicy rye notes and hints of oak from the barrels it was aged within.

2015 edition from bottle.

Poured into a tulip ice cold. I truly enjoyed this one. Pours a very light amber color with very little head. Smells of peaches, rye, oak, and funk pop out right away from the first sniff. The beer had the right amount of peaches where you could definitely tell that the Bruery did not skimp out at all. The peach flavor was not exactly in your face like some of the top peach sours in the world but it was enough for me to be completely satisfied. In terms of the sour and tart factor, this one had it for sure. For the feel, the beer had a medium body with light to moderate carbonation. Definitely one of the most sour and tart beers from the Bruery that I've tried. I do enjoy their Sour in the Rye variants and this one I would definitely love to drink again given the opportunity. Cheers!

Had this at a bottle share, courtesy of Aaron. Pours out exactly like the base, a beautiful gold color. The smell is about the same as well with a subtle peach aroma wafting from the glass. The taste is what separates this beer from the original. The sour peach taste really pops here. Amazing stuff.

Poured from a 2015 750ml bottle into a Duvel glass. It is a beautiful glowing cloudy deep orange. The carbonation produced a fizzy off-white head that immediately dissipated into a fine soapy ring that settles back into the beer.

It smells tart, acidic, yeasty, and fruity. Apricot/peaches and some subtle spice.

The flavors really don't stray much. It is sour and spicy initially, then a very strong ripe peach settles in and lingers forever like you grabbed one of the tree and took a big bite out of it, rind and all. There is some wood and apple cider vinegar, and a distinct musty aftertaste is also noticeable.

Carbonation is prickly and it has a bit of a lip smacking finish.

A fantastic beer. I am a big fan of peaches and this doesn't disappoint with tons of fresh peach flavor front and center.

A: A hazy golden yellow with a laced ivory white head.

S: Complex. There is caramel on the front, it transitions to a rye aroma, it then becomes a funky tart aroma, and ends with the sweet aroma of peaches.

T: Amazing. There is a perfect balance between the sweet peach flavor and the funky sour created by the bacteria and yeast. Caramel notes throughout.

M: Great body and carbonation. It could have a little more body and carbonation, but it is still great.

O: Great beer. Among the elite sours.

No head production. Opaque dark orange body.

Intense aroma! Tannins, oak, peaches, vinegar, rye, must.

Lighter on the palate, but still quite okay and tart, with vinegar, tannins, and a wave of peaches that washes over the palate.

Very sour and puckering.
