The Second release in our Bourbon Barrel Aged series, is a massive Imperial IPA slowly aged in Journeyman Bourbon Barrels. This in an intensely hopped IPA paired with oak and bourbon flavors. A killer craft beer lover's delight!

L; No head at all. Dark amber/brown.
S; Extremely aromatic. Heavy molasses/caramel, slight raisin, slight burnt orange, slight floral
T; Moderately sweet. Burnt caramel, orange, and really any burnt, sweet fruit fits the category. Slightly burnt, bitter hoppy finish.
F; HIGH abv, feels around 16-20%. Initially syrupy, then feels light on the tongue once alcohol kicks in. Also 0 carbonation.
O; Disappointed. Definitely not worth $24.99 plus tax for 22oz. The beer must have been aged too long to gain such intense flavors that are not pleasant and the lack of carbonation destroys the mouthfeel. I understand that these style of beers do not usually have much carbonation, but this beer has absolutely no carbonation, making the experience like drinking a glass of bourbon barrel flavored beer liqueur. So yes, this may be the next big thing for cocktail mixologists, but definitely not for specialty beer.
