08/06/19 date, I assume best by? Who knows.

A: Pours a nice dark brown with a very tall, very airy brown head. Head lightens up and fizzes away fairly quickly. No real lacing.

S: Bread crusts with a side of raisin. Hints of toffee and some earthy spices?

T: Heavy breadiness with some caramel sweetness. Very earthy. Some indistinct spices that I can't quite place. Lots of raisins, especially in the middle and finish. Practically raisin juice for a split second. Fairly dry finish with lots of mild spices floating around.

M: Medium bodied and smooth.

O: Not a bad dubbel, on the spiced side for sure which helps cure some of the typical dubbel blandness. Well balanced and quite flavorful for only 6.5%.

Poured from 750ml bottle into Chimay goblet.

L - Dark brown pour with a finger of tan head that reduces quickly.

S - Very light nose, brown bread, malts, raisins.

T - Toasted raisin bread, fruit in the front, grains at the end. Almost a grape jelly taste with a slight hop bitterness.

F - Thin, moderate carbonation, dry finish.

Flavorful dubbel with some complexity. A great table beer, not over-filling or overpowering.

It pours dark brown color with long-lasting tan head. Aroma isn't strong, but molasses and Belgian yeasty esters like plum are evident. Moderately malty sweet taste has complexity of caramalts, brown sugar, plum and raisin. It finishes slightly spicy and semi-dry which is signature of Belgian yeast. Low carbonation with medium body. Smooth and delicious, another very good Belgian.

Very dark brown ale with a slowly fading head and sediment at bottom of bottle...taste is chocolate, dark fruits, chocolate and alcoholic warmth. Very good brew!!

From Optimus Beer. In Roquetas de Mar. Afte dinner. In shaker glass. Perfect, full of tasty dark fruits and with a good body. I cant think in a way of improving it

Pours bright dark brown, decent head.

Weird aroma - flat cola, carbonic acid, sick. Bit of unwelcome sulphur. Not good.

Taste is flat cola, dandelion and burdock, some tartness and dryness. better than the aroma. No hop aroma, flavour, tiny bit of bitterness. This has three years on the BBD, god knows what it will be like then

High carbonation, thin/med body.

Avoid.

Edit: Not heeding my own advice I had another one of these as I'd bought a 4 pack - this time with food it was a lot more enjoyable. But I wasn't rating it

Dark brown, ruby red reflections. Two-finger tan head. Pretty thick lacing. Looks great.

Smells of caramel, bread, cloves, banana. Coffee. Not too aggressively sweet like a lot of belgians are.

Tastes bready, kinda roasty. A bit fruity too (apple and banana). Like the smell, the light (for the style) sweetness is a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. Distinct bitterness too, which probably helps reduce the sweet factor. Slightly peppery and spicy.

Well carbonated, medium body. Kinda prickly actually.

Very nice, me likey. Not a style I'm usually overly fond of, but this is really great.

Pour the color of a cola with a large & long lasting head. Lovely sweet aroma, caramel & roasted grain. Flavor is quite mild, very slightly sweet, fruity. Could be taken up a notch, I think. Still, it is very good.
