Clear caramel in color, seasonal spice smell (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg). Medium mouth feel, extremely sweet. I took a chance and bought a case. I like pumpkin beer and based my buy on the suggestion of a friend that has similar tastes in beer. Once you get passed the sweetness of the first one, it really isn't that bad. It's not pumpking mind you, nut good.

Poured 12 oz bottle into snifter glass. 7% abv

Appearance- Pours a dark copper with 2 finger head fast to dissipate. Pretty clear.

Smell- Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg. Some pumpkin poking through.

Taste- Sweet candy malt with a noticeable table sugar like taste. Very little pumpkin. Tons of spice notes, just as in the nose. A mouthful of cinnamon. Beer finishes extremely sweet with very little grainy malt or pumpkin.

Mouthfeel- Medium in body and carbonation.

Overall- I feel like I just did the cinnamon challenge after this beer. Obnoxiously sweet. Lacking on pumpkin and attentiveness to malt. Pass.

Pumpkin and spice flavor is more bold than most pumpkin beer. It's very flavorful, but it's definitely sweeter than most pumpkin ales. I liked it, but not for everyone.

This could be the worst beer I ever had. I thought I accidently drank a bottle of cheap perfume. too bad I couldn't rate it with a negative number.

I picked this up at McNeilly's Beer 6 Packs & More in Pittsburgh, intending to drink it on Monday in King of Prussia, but it ended up coming home with me to Chez Woody.

I Pop!ped the cap and began a heavy-handed pour, creating two fingers of foamy, light tan head with modest retention. Color was Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was very pumpkin spicy and I was reminded of a Tastykake Pumpkin Pie. This beer had a biscuit malt quality that I found notable. Mmmm. Mouthfeel was medium. This was a very sweet pumpkin beer! It was spicy, but it also had an inherent maltiness that is uncommon in the style. It really reminded me more and more of a Tastykake Pumpkin Pie with every sip. Finish was semi-sweet, kept in check by the spices, but really leaning towards outright sweetness. Some nice lacing formed in the glass as an added bonus. I might not want more than one, due to its sweetness, but this was a pleasant change of pace.

Smells nearly identical to pumpkin pie, nice. Taste, however, is nasty. Cloying, over-spiced. Avoid this beer.

Pours a nice orangey color. Aroma is of pumpkin pie, nice. Taste is sweet cinnamon clove. It tastes like pumpkin pie. I think this is an excellent fall pumpkin beer. This and Lancaster are my 2 favorite pumpkin beers.

Meh. Kind of a phony pumpkin taste. I tried it because I was told it was selling quickly but soon regretted having done so.
