3 months old. Can to wine glass.
L: Pours a full and hazy dark yellow with a fluffy white head that leaves a bit of lacing. No floaters.
S: Candied orange and tangerine as well as ripe pineapple and pines. Sweet and fruity.
T: Candied citrus fruits and tropical notes can be tasted as well, but they are not as present as in the beer‘s smell. Quite piney, grassy and slightly herbal. Medium sweet body followed by a bitter finish.
F: Full and juicy, yet highly drinkable thanks to it‘s vibrant carbonation.
O: Even though I was expecting the beer to be sweeter and fruitier after smelling it first, I still liked its taste and especially its feel. Very good DIPA and deservedly one of The Veils best known brews.

L -- Deep orange, almost amber, with lots of haze and a finger of sudsy white head produced with moderately aerated pour
S -- Malty and sweet, with notes of strawberry, orange, and guava. Creamy yeast profile
T -- Largely follows the nose. Bit more dankness and bitterness than expected. The 2-row/caramel malts are very present
F -- Soft. Thick for the ABV

On tap at Belmont Station today, much to my surprise. Looks like PDX got a Veil Brewing drop. In any event...
The beer pours a hazy, murky golden amber color with good head and light lacing. On the nose, I'm impressed, as I'm picking considerable pine, dry citrus, light dank earth and tropical fruit. At least in the nose, this comes across as a pretty serious DIPA. On the palate the beer is not quite as impressive. There's plenty of flavor, which generally replicates the nose, but in attempting to eliminate any bitterness in the finish (in which the brewer succeed spectacularly), the brewer largely eliminated any finish whatsoever. Mouthfeel is fairly full, but with no bitterness or finish to speak of. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile, though there is some noticeable heat on the finish.
Nice IPA, but some bitterness on the finish would enhance this beer's drinkability and hide the alcoholic finish better.

16oz can dated 8/29/22.
Pours hazy gold with a moderate head and retention. Pine and grapefruit in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft, tacky mouthfeel. Earthy pine with grapefruit and mild malt on the palate. Finishes a bit sweet and malty with a firm bitterness.

Well, I’m open. I’m open like Grace Kelly to any leading male. So, even though I’m not really into Hazy’s, I’ll still drink this beer and I’ll respect it for what it is. And you know what? Like the kid in The Power of the Dog doing the hula hoop, it does the trick. It’s not pure juice, or off-putting it anyway. It has nice tropical flavors, and that is met with a tiny malt bite. My first trip with The Veil? Yeah, like Enya, I’ll go on that voyage.

From a 2-week-old can scored direct from the brewery, pours a very hazy dark orange. Smell features citrus and tropical fruits along with a nice hit of resin. Taste follows, very deliciously. This is a most excellent NEIPA.

Poured from can. Cloudy yellow with right carbonation limited head. Love the bitterness with this one. No bitterness at the back end, bitter on pallet and smooth start. Aroma is good.

Pours very hazy orange. Medium head, light lacing. Aroma of fruit, dankness and pine. Taste of mild bitterness, fruit and a slight touch of alcohol. Medium MF, very creamy.
My only knock is the back taste of alcohol. It's not enough to dock any points. Still, a very well done beer.

I graduated High School in the mid-90's and was probably the only person in my class that didn't see Wayne's World or the sequel. With that being said, this beer that was canned on 6/19/17 aged much better than either movie did, as it was a New England IPA that was easy to enjoy, light on perceived alcohol, and true to stylistic form. This was one of the better offerings from The Veil that was on par with the better brews that I've had over the years...
Not a bad pour to this as the turbid and murky off-golden hue was topped by plenty of spongy, thick head that was quite thick and voluminous. Lots of soapy lacing lingered on my pint glass as I worked my way through this although none of it was in the form of discernible rings. Spelt, wheat, grain, bread, orange, and grass were on the muted nose as the taste was full of those range of flavors. Deep pine, citrus pith, and a swampy dankness grabbed hold of my palate as this beer was quite heavy and long-lasting; with the aftertaste taking quite a while to fade out. An overall feeling of swamp water was what I got from this which wasn't bad, although some brighter notes would have elevated this beer up a notch or two...
The amount of alcohol was spot-on as this beer was potent, but not strong, and the heft was on par with the range of dank, weighted notes that were present. While not the best that The Veil had to offer, this was a quality brew that hearkened back to the south and had me wishing for a summer on the other side of the Mason-Dixon line. No doubt that this was a timeless that held it's own while being just a bit short of the better examples of the style from this neck of the woods - although aficionados of the style would still be wise to see this out. Glad I was able to give it a go!

Canned 1/4/17; drank 1/14/17 @ the Palace.
Cloudy orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a huge bright white head; decent lace.
Orange peel, grass & soap notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Dry grass & orange peel flavors up front; mild pickle juice notes on the finish.
Dry & difficult to finish; an abysmal effort.

Golden beer with a bit of an orange color. Bright, white, fluffy head that leaves massive amounts of lacing behind. Smells a lot like grapefruit with some other tropical fruits and some piney hops. Creamy mouthfeel and sweet with a lot of grapefruit, some mango and other tropical fruits with a hint of peach. All cleaned up by an aggressive pithy and piney bitterness. Great beer.
