This is the first double IPA that isn't Crucial Taunt that we've produced. Hopped intensely with Citra, Moasic, Galaxy, and Nelson. Aroma/flavor profile is insane on this one.

On tap at Belmont Station today. Given the BA reviews, I was excited to try this beer. Oh well.
The beer pours a somewhat hazy light copper amber color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose I get some light tropical fruit and a hint of underlying onion. It's OK, though I was hoping for a bit more on the nose. On the palate, this is a very unusual tasting IPA. Especially for a beer listed as a NE style IPA. The beer has some light tropical fruit on the palate, but there's also considerable onion and also a dirt like quality (hence the name?). So this beer is unusually dry on the finish for a hazy IPA, with light bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a dry, slightly bitter finish. Alcohol is actually quite well integrated into the flavor profile, but that really doesn't do much to enhance this beer's drinkability.
Very strange IPA. Maybe the keg didn't travel well from Virginia? Not a big fan of this dipa and there's no way I'd order this again. Really do not understand the high review scores for this beer, but of course each to their own.

Slight one fingers worth of late developing bone white colored froth... Color is a moderately hazed peachy gold.... Huge vibrant nose of tropical fruit and lactose... Flavor profile is not at all as anticipated... Completwly dank and earthy with no sweetness anywhere insight... A sharp slightly acidic hoppiness lingers... Feel is dense and on the fuller side of medium bodied... Sturdy and limited carbonation... Interesting beer that always kept me guessing a little...
