Master Master Shredder Shredder is the double dry-hopped version of our beloved flagship IPA Master Shredder. This one came out insane! Probably our favorite Master Shredder variant yet. We know y'all are going to dig this one. Incredible aroma. Dank, fresh orange peel, grapefruit, slight onion(in a good way).

4.04/5: A damn impressive new-school IPA, though the aroma outshines the flavor slightly

On tap at Swillburger/The Playhouse in Rochester, NY.
This pours a very hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like orange peel, grapefruit pith, tangerine, and some chive-like bitterness.
I haven’t had a Veil IPA in quite a bit now. I didn’t like them all that much back in the day, and revisiting it here kind of just confirms my feelings on them. It’s got a weird, onion-like and chive-ish bitterness on the back end, and it just finishes way too bone dry. There’s not enough juicy hop character overcome this over-reliance on weird dry dankness.
This is dry, thin, and kind of bitter. It’s not undrinkable, but it’s also not that drinkable.
There’s a lot that The Veil does well in my mind – barrel aged stouts and barleywines, wild ales, and saisons – but their IPAs just simply do not do it for me

Pours a murky hazy golden. This beer does not get by on its looks. Nose is kind of muddled. Yogurt and maybe some offseason blueberry - like heather/wildflower aroma. Some good berry character that is overtaken with vegetal hop burn. Extremely disappointing.

Poured from a 16oz can into a spieglau glass
Look: Opaque hazy peach juice. Thick white head.
Smell: Guava, passion fruit, mango, and bitter mango.
Taste: Exactly like the smell but with a finish of white onion and a kiss of wheat sweetness.
Feel: Dry, clean, light, no alcohol, soft carbonation.
Overall: Fine. The body is a bit light and I get that given the ABV but it would help from a slight bump up. A good beer but nothing to write home about.

Fresh cans from the brewery. Pours bright and pale with a medium head and good lace. Nose is fruity as you'd expect with distinct lime rind along with melon and a bit of pineapple. Taste is big for the ABV...they really nailed/maximized what they could do in a 5.5% beer here. I would have guessed easily a full percent higher. Mouthfeel is slightly thin compared to the flavor, but it is probably a little of a false impression considering it hits above its weight. Overall, great. I'd drink this any day.

From the bottom of the can: "10/14/19 10:05:03"
Appearance: When cracking open the can the beer it started to come out of the top so be careful when opening this. It has a beige appearance with a large white head with oversized bubbles intermixed with smaller ones. It has very good head retention and lacing.
Aroma: As soon as the beer was cracked open it had a ton of aroma. It smells strongly of peach skin, there is a nice scent of tangerine, and grapefruit.
Taste: There isn't a lot going on in the flavor department. There is a very light bit of white orange pith flavor and at times there is a very remote flavor of peach. It gets pretty grassy the more it is consumed.
Mouthfeel: It has a mild bitterness that is a bit more than the standard New England IPA and also lingers more on the palate. The body is light
Overall: It looks and smells fantastic but it doesn't have the flavor to back it up. The beer is overly grassy and is otherwise devoid of flavor. It was a disappointment to have such a build-up of good aroma and then be let down by a cliffhanger. It would work great as a candle. I was bummed out because I thought I struck gold with this beer and I only struck fool's gold. It's drinkable and if you bought a four-pack you can finish it easily enough because it's still a good beer that could be amazing if it tasted as good as it smelled. As a whole it is just another average attempt at the New England IPA style. I wouldn't buy it again but I wouldn't persuade anyone against trying it either. It's a fence sitter beer.
