Notes: Lord Lord Shredder Shredder is double blood orange, double dry-hopped Master Shredder. We actually used 3 times the amount of blood orange purée than regular Lord Shredder(over 10lbs per BBL), but decided we would save the space on our menu board instead of naming it Lord Lord Lord.

Veil - Lord Lord Shredder Shredder
Double Blood Orange ddh ipa - 6.3% abv
Canned 10/16/17 (20 days ago)

L - 2-finger offwhite head recedes fully in 2 minutes, leaving behind gobs of sticky lacing. Body is murky orange, just like most Veil ipas.

S - blood oranges are very prominent. Candied citrus. Slight bit of booze.

T - orange sweetness on the front. This is way sweeter than most Veil ipas. A slight sour tang in the middle. Some dirt. Ends with a very low bitterness.

F - medium body and carb. Very dry.

O - Not getting much of that classic Veil ddh taste here. The hops are hidden behind the orange sweetness. I prefer the other Shredders greatly over this one.

Canned 12/27/16; drank 1/6/17 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy orange/yellow appearance.

A rough pour yielded a HUGE bright white head; frothy lace.

Blood orange & mild cane sugar notes in the nose.

Thin mouthfeel.

Blood orange & mild cane sugar flavors; basically a blood orange soda.

Refreshing but a bit underwhelming; this is a hot summer day beer.

10/17/17 release

Cloudy deep orange color under a fluffy off-white head. Fresh hoppy greenness upfront in the nose, juicy orange melds with mango and weed. Delicious bold yet smooth hop flavor - orange is definitely there again, but blends nicely with the mellow fruitiness of the hops. Orange juice, tangerine, pine needles, grapefruit, and pineapple. Medium bodied drying out to a pretty crisp juicy finish. Tasty, not too fruity-sweet, maintaining the green hop edge that I like to see from the Veil.

The memories of the 1980's Double Mint gum come rushing back as the label reads "double blood orange" and "double dry hopped". And as the name of the beer causes a double take as well, the commercial rings true- double your pleasure; double your fun.

Lord Shreadder times two pours a bright gold, strong straw hue with a moderate haze from excessive dry hopping and unfettered rawness. As a billowing sea foam tops the glass, its scent of tropical fruit, citrus fruit, herb and grass fill the nose with a bright and hoppy bouquet. Sweetness grazes the tongue with a light honey, biscuit and cashew nuttiness.

As the ale opens up on the tongue, the hops simply blossom. White grapefruit, tangy orange, lemon and verbena round the beer's citrusy upstart but the tropical tang of passionfruit and dry pineapple frame a late fruit fare. As the bitterness of hops set in, they bring a bold herbal bite to the finish. Chive, hemp, fresh grass clippings and wildflower trail into a spicy, bold bitterness with the grip of freshly shaven pine and fruit peels.

Medium bodied, the beer's dry maltiness only supports the hops and give the fruit impressions a sense of ripeness and juiciness. The bitterness and moderate alcohol aid in dryness and allows the ale to trek drier and spicier with a long bitter bite of fruit and grass.

Light golden body with a small white collar. Aromas of melon, oranges, hops. Lovely, with blood oranges popping on the palate. Light on the palate. Delicious. Well done.

This slightly hazy dull yellow beer presents a pretty fizzy white head that recedes pretty quick, revealing only reluctant lacing. Nose pops with bitter orange and some oniony dankness. Taste follows along quite well, as it reverses slightly - dank upfront with a tart, bitter orange finish. Body is medium bodied with plenty of carbonation.

16oz can poured into an oversized wine glass
Canned 12/27/16

A- pours a hazy golden orange color with a small foamy white head that has good retention and reduces to a thin film on top

S- plenty of blood orange aroma up front with some spicy orange zest, herbal & grassy hops with just a hint of honeyed biscuit malt

T- bitter citrus zest up front, orange & lime, followed by plenty of blood orange. Spicy herbal and grassy hop notes kick in before finishing with floral and spicy pine

M- medium body and carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp dry finish

O- even more blood orange and bitterness, but still highly drinkable

Poured on tap at the brewery in a teku, the beer is a hazy, orange-gold coloring, with a filmy, clingy, white head. Aromas of orange juice and mango, with hints of tart berry notes. Flavors are tart and sweet forward, with a bold acidity that accompanies. Notes of orange, tart raspberry, and subtle mango, with subtle grapefruit and lemon accents. A bit of a muddled, citrusy mess on the palate. The body is dry and crisp, with a citrus heavy fruity aftertaste. The finish is dry and crisp, with a lingering astringency.
