Solid hazy juice under a lovely thick, creamy covering. Aroma has that fresh green hop pellet edge that I love...dank resins, oranges, scallions, earthy berries, and weed. Huge hoppy flavors of tangerine, marijuana, mango, berry, and Equinox pepperiness. A subtle burn builds in the throat, but otherwise this drinks like a lighter beer. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation, crisp in the finish. Not too heavy or juicy sweet - love the abundant dankness.

Poured from a 16oz can into a tulip glass (1 week old). Appearance is hazy orange brown with one finger thick head with moderate retention. Smell is earthy hops and orange puree but not as complex or juicy as some other Veil releases. Taste follows the nose with very good balance and low to moderate sweetness and balance. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, very soft and moderate carbonation coming through on the finish. It is almost too soft with maybe too much carbonation up front.
Overall, this is a good IPA from Veil and I may even say very good from another brewery. However, it fell a little flat compared to the last two IPAs I've had from them. There is good earthy hop flavor and some juiciness, but it was missing something ... complexity, a crisp finish. Having said all of that, this is still another enjoyable beer from Veil.

Courtesy of Leo Pineda. 16oz can, less than three weeks old. Super hazy appearance, best described as orange creamsicle. Great head retention and lacing. The aroma blasts out of the can. Maybe equal parts grass/pine and fruitiness. The blueberry character that Mosaic can impart is present here, plus some tropical fruit notes that are coming through as tangerine and passion fruit. Mix that with equal parts dank. Flavor profile is pretty dry as DIPAs go, putting the hops at center stage. Tons of citrus rind / pith. Not even a flash of sweetness -- the malt just keeps things from being bone dry. Beautifully smooth mouthfeel makes this a pleasure to sip. This is something like a turbocharged "session" IPA, a style I don't usually care for as I prefer some degree malty sweetness in my IPAs, but everything comes together like hop heaven here.
If this is any indication, The Veil deserves all the $$$ you can throw at them. The reviews on BA don't lie -- they brew elite IPAs.
