Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
AMUN(aka the hidden one) is a collaboration with our dear friends @omnipollo. Amun was dreamt up by Henok of Omnipollo and our head brewer Matt. They then brewed the first batch in Sweden. This is the US version of this awesome collab. Amun is an 8% DIPA brewed with a bunch of oat milk. Hopped intensely with Citra, Mosaic, and Nelson. This beer is insanely soft. One of the most drinkable DIPAs we've ever been a part of. The artwork from @karlgrandin is just insane too!

16 oz. can from 2/7/17 release poured into Teku glass for that extra-special drink experience.

L: 1F head with little retention, not much lacing and just a thin ring with no cap. Beer is a hazy straw color.

S: Mostly getting tropical notes from the Mosaic hops with some grapefruit and a lot of the oats coming through.

T: Basically follows nose. The pineapple tends to dominate, but the oat milk really comes forward quickly with soft neutralizing creaminess. Not bitter at all.

F: Medium bodied, light carbonation. Good construction and balance. Definitely lingers on palate. Soft flavors.

O: Just doesn't have the depth of flavor to be considered top-notch, but a good drinker and excellent experiment.

Poured from a 16 oz can (canned 02/07/2017) into #properglassware release day stemless glass

Appear: light straw color gold haze but also one of the lightest Veil brews I've even seen. head was bigger bubbles didn't last. there is a nice amount of carbonation tho moving around in this beer.

Nose: nice citrus tropical fruits. mango guava. THere is also a doughy yeasty tone that reminds me of a yeasty tripel note.

Taste: its not big flavors. mainly citra flavors. citrus peel maybe a little mango and pineapple. little hop pine bit but you really have to think about it because its so smooth for the most part.

Mouth: really sliky and smooth. light mouthfeel. not creamy really maybe a little but in the sense that skim milk is creamy. Skim milk might actually be a good comparison for how this feels. Carbonated skim milk. no hint of 8% abv.

Over: This is an average Veil beer which is to say it's pretty damn good. I don't find that the oat milk really adds anything to the party. I think the nose and taste on this beer have really kind of faded. I wish I had reviewed one of the first cans I had about a month ago I think I would've bummed it up some. Not that this can is bad but if you got em drink ASAP.

L: super hazy with a bunch of white head that lasted awhile
S: hops citrus lemon and a hint of grass. Not very strong
T: hops, lemon, grapefruit and some malt on the finish.
F: excellent feel here. Super smooth, almost creamy, most likely the oat milk. Also very thick for a DIPA, which I love.
O: the look and smell are fine. The taste is very good and the feel is excellent. Would definitely like another.

Can poured into a nonic pint glass.

L: Straw/gold with some haze. About 1.5 fingers of head.

S: Definitely get some oaty/bread-yness, along with some pineapple, melon and a little grapefruit.

T: Basically the same as the aroma, lots of tropical flavors with some bready flavor.

M: Really smooth, some bitterness on the back palate but it's a really good feel overall. Feels smoother than most 8% IPAs.

O: Lacks the intensity of flavor to be really great, but I'd absolutely drink it. I could see having tons of these at a bar, given that it's really drinkable and the ABV doesn't really hit you.

16 oz can, fresh from the brewery, just getting around to writing a review. Poured into a stemmed, wine glass. Orange hue, hazy color, nice white carbonation. It has that distinct Veil taste, strong citrus fruit aroma, and taste. Easily crushable beer at the abv.

Thick and hazy golden DIPA with hints of grapefruit and pineapple on the nose. Really smooth and almost creamy taste and mouthfeel that makes this beer very drinkable. Pineapple and grapefruit juiciness from the hops and overall a great double IPA. Would definitely drink this again and again. Definitely a great collaboration beer that will make me seek out more beers from both Omnipollo and Veil.
