A: pale straw with medium head, light head retention and nice lacing. Cloudy

A: lots of tropical fruits and melon. Pineapple, mango, ripe melon, lemon, a little straw and grass, and mellow bread malts. Excellent!

F: more of the aromas and juicy! Pineapple, Melon and lemon dominate with light herbal and citrus notes. Bread malts balance it a bit.

M: medium thin with light carbonation. Very drinkable. Tastes juicy sweet but finishes a little bitter. Nice but could be a little more carbonated.

O: excellent beer and very drinkable surprising for the abv. Would enjoy a second can if I had one

For the style a nice looking shade of orange juice. Great juicy aroma and a smooth but not coating or chalky mouthfeel. What impressed was the taste. This NE IPA has the right amount of ABV, bitterness and bite to balance the cloudy maltiness that gives it all its other wonderful attributes. Note that the ABV is very well hidden. This beer goes down quickly.

Tall can ....11/06/17...just under a month in the can.

Full clouded juicy NEIPA look here.....minor head, lacing etc.

Ripe pineapple sniff

WOW, lower carbonation, 11% pretty well hidden, but this is some seriously heady stuff, ripe juice laden, complex and delicious...DIPA on steroids and crafted with fine skills.....this beer is a beasty....go get some

Can stamped 11/06/17

Murky pale orange hue with only a thin layer of sticky cream. Ridiculous, pungent hop aroma...fresh hop pellets, pine resin, mango, orange, grassy herbs. A little alcohol spiciness and raw dry hop character creep in as it warms. Flavor is huge on the hops, but seems more like something in the 8-9% range. In the past, Triple IPAs have usually been overly sticky and clunky for my tastes, but the Veil avoids all of that. Bright fresh hops throughout, never hindered by booze or cloying sweetness. Pineapple, mango, creamy citrus, peach skins, green herbs, light sap, and cannabis. Silky smooth medium body, light on the carbonation, amazingly dry and crisp on the finish. Just a hint of alcohol, but this drinks waaaaay too easily for its strength. Love the hop character that doesn't just go full juicy and leaves room for the green dankness. (Thanks, Pat!)

Appearance: Arrives cloudy with a pale orange cast topped by two fingers of foam; good lacing action

Smell: Dank with juicy orange and honey tones

Taste: Dank, from the outset, with juicy orange notes building; the honeyed character detected in the aroma adds some sweetness to the juice, producing a citrus candy aspect; little bitterness (0 IBUs) leads to the juicy finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: I was concerned by the potential for a cloying beer here as some of the Veil's high ABV IPAs have not been my cup of tea but this beer was extraordinary

Drank on tap at The Veil Brewing Co., Richmond, VA
Served in a stemmed wine glass

Terrific appearance. The cloudy, glowing orangey-yellow body was topped by a small cap of bright white bubbles that quickly fell to a lasting film. A frothy, resilient collar encircled the liquid.

The aroma was pure Mosaic hop bliss. Cannabis notes dominated. The dank weedy character was really over the top. Strong onion notes too. Citrus fruits were detectable in the background. Some juicy orange notes for sure. Bit of honey-like sweetness.

The flavor profile was also fantastic. Loads of dank cannabis up front. Big juicy orange notes too. There was an intense honey-like malty sweetness that can be expected in any 11% triple IPA. More orange and candied orange peel on the back end and in the finish. Nice mix of orange rind and sweet malts in the finish.

Excellent creamy, slick and smooth mouthfeel. Fuller bodied for the style. The liquid contained a fine, frothy, tongue blanketing effervescence.

ImdonewithU is an amazingly flavorful triple IPA that drinks surprisingly well for 11%. If you enjoy the dank cannabis and onion notes often found in Mosaic hopped beers and can deal with a fair amount of malty sweetness, than this might be your thing too.

Poured a cloudy orange body with minimal head and lace with an aroma that to me really wasn't striking except minor orange/acidity. Smooth, easy drinking, the booze is well-hidden and the bitterness is minimal as the beer is clean and has a mostly sweet tangerine and acidic orange balancing act going on and clean finish.

The body has a nice medium orange look with a good yellow hue to it. The smell consists of a nice, mainly dry hop grassy pine bitterness with some moderate grapefruit. The taste has a slight sweetness in the taste and an alcohol note that runs through it among the grapefruit notes. It has a heavy body but slightly creamy but more smooth, which makes it pretty drinkable.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/17/2018. Pours very hazy/cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, strawberry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, strawberry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, strawberry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 11%. Overall this is an awesome NE DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the melloely bitter/drying finish. Nice soft feel, not overly aggressive. Awesome Citra/Mosaic showcase. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; balanced bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. Was surprisingly lightweight for the 11%. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
