Notes:
A well balanced West Coast IPA utilizing a generous blend of six hops;
featuring Simcoe, Citra & Mosaic varieties.

16oz can. No date. Sample from the brewery. Thanks, O'Brian!
Slightly hazy (we'll talk later) golden-orange hued beer with a creamy lace. Citrus and pine in the nose. Very crisp, lively, and creamy on the palate. Kind of juicy too with a solid dose of tropical fruitiness (pineapple, mango, papaya) that collides with more pine, some grapefruit, citrus rind, and good old-fashioned dankness with resiny and ashy notes. Quite bitter, and a bit spicy too, but the fruitiness keeps it in check. Some honey and melon sweetness, bready malt backbone, and a biscuity, dry, herbal, finish.
For a West Coast IPA brewed on the East Coast, this is damn good. A bit too hazy, because WCIPAs are meant to be as clear as the SoCal skies, but still damn good. Wish I had another one.

BLDG8 The IPA 10/24/15
Love the can art of hops on the vine entwining over metallic silver and black background
Lone product thus far from a new local brewery. First tasted at a local beer festival last month, bought a fourpack of pint cans because it was that good.
Poured from the pint can into a Tree House stemmed tulip.
a: Translucent amber with a finger thick slightly offwhite head which receded to even surface foam
s; Citrus and pine resin.
t; Follows the nose leaning heavily to a combination of grapefruit and resin, over a solid medium bready malt base and followed swiftly by a considerable hop bite which lingered slightly. Grassy notes develop in the dry finish.
m; Medium with very good body and some carbonation tingle.
o; Worth this new brewery dwelling on, a very good IPA bordering on a double. A new friend who remarked on my Alchemist shirt at the above mentioned festival says he enjoys Heady Topper but now that "we" have BLDG8 IPA as well as Tree House and Wormtown nearer, no need to go all the way up to northern Vermont. And so far it's been way more available locally than Be Hoppy has been lately. I'll definitely be buying more of this.

Recommended by my friends at Ryan & Casey. This brew did not disappoint. I've been drinking IPAs since the 1970s & this is right up there with the best of the medium bodied, dry, clean finished recipes that are the best expression of this style. The hops are present throughout & spicey. I agree with the reviewer who stated the citrus was just a "hint" which is exactly what this beer needed. Hats off to this new brewery!

Relatively clear light amber color with three fingers of dense and lasting white head that leaves heavy lacing. Mild aroma of pine and peach skins. Sweet tasting with the same flavors and just a kiss of grapefruit pith bitterness behind, as well as a spicy kick in the aftertaste . Great mouthfeel, medium bodied, prickly, with solid carbonation. Very enjoyable. No canned-on date, so no clue as to it's age.

Someone local to area suggested this to me. I am glad I went out on the limb and purchased two 4 packs. This is a very very good beer. Great color, nice golden haze. I was traveling and did not have the proper glass to really appreciate in full view. The aroma from the can was a solid citrus and spice. The taste was just as powerful with hints of pine and citrus. A very nice balance of malt and hops in each swirl. The more I drank it the more I was impressed with the tasty hoppiness that was left in my mouth. This a solid beer, I will definatley continue to drink this regularly. Looking forward to sharing with my upsatate NY craft heads. This will get lots of praise. Great job BLDG 8!!!

Pours a deep gold. Not the most aromatic IPA. Tremendous tropical fruit. I get mango. It is met quickly with a hit of pine. The evolution of flavor gives it some complexity. Building 8 marries the new and the old very well in this beer.
