Very cloudy. Deep golden color. Good amount of small carbonation rising. Foamy head that disappears pretty quick.

Sweet nose. Bananas, cloves, bready, just a hint of citrus.

Bready up front. Fruity, bananas, cloves, tart, yeasty. Bitterness towards the finish.

Thick, yet slightly crisp. Very light on the carbonation.

Served in a Sam Adams Alpine Spring glass.

Orange and cloudy with a short-lived white head. 3.5

Nice clove spice nose with delectable banana, musty wheat, sweet bread, and some orange. Dreamy. 4.0

Juicy banana flavors, spicy clove, vanilla, light orange, and mildly spicy finish. Exceptional hefe. 4.5

Served on tap into a wheat glass for Winking Lizard's Glass of the Month

A- Poured a super cloudy pale yellow color with a two finger head that left some droppy lace

S- Big citrus, clove, banana, and some bubblegum notes

T- Bready and wheat taste. The banana, clove, and citrus notes of a hefeweizen are present but a little more subdued than other hefeweizens.

M- Very smooth, creamy, soft mouthfeel, some nice soft carbonation on the finish

O- A very drinkable hefeweizen that is more bready and wheat tasting than others in the style, but the yeast presence seems much lower in the taste.

On tap in Erlangen, Germany

A: Pours a nice hazy golden color with a strong fluffy white head. Nice retention.

S: Spicy aroma with moderate banana notes.

T: Taste has a nice balance of the typical hefeweizen notes of wheat, banana, clove. I find the Kapuziner to be slightly more spicy than other examples but in a good way.

M: Medium body with high carbonation typical of this style.

O: A very good hefeweizen but a slightly different take on the style than the breweries in Munich put out.

Poured on-tap and served in a weisse vase, the beer is a creamy, cloudy, opaque orange-gold coloring with a thin, foamy, dense white head. Aromas of banana bread, orange, and a hint of clove, with some pineapple and mango highlights, also. Pineapple and clove heavy on the forward tongue, with the spice giving off to a roasted character and bready backbone, all of which is kept light and crisp by an increased and steady flow of carbonation. Decent cling of thick, foamy lace. The aftertaste gives off more of the blended fruit sweetness, with pineapple, mango, peach, and orange abound. Like drinking the juice out of a fruit cocktail. The finish has a slight cloying feel, but that is broken up quickly by the carbonation. Flavors are a wee bit too fruity for me, but it's a solid beer, nonetheless.
