$ 2.64 (Including tax)/11.2 oz bottle ($ 0.236/oz) at The Lager Mill, Frankenmuth, MI.
Standard euro export 330mL bottle marked 2624172 stored at 42 degrees. Served at 42 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – grassy and grainy.
Head large (Maximum six cm, aggressive pour), white, dense creamy froth, average retention, diminishing to an irregular ten to eighteen mm frothy ring and a frothy partial layer fed by the effervescence.
Lacing – partial rings of thick froth.
Body – golden, clear, effervescent.
Flavor – lightly grassy with a little hop bitterness and just a hint of malt. No alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate – light, watery, lively carbonation.
A very good pils, something I no longer consider an oxymoron.
Appearance 4, Aroma 4.25, Flavor 4.25, Palate 4.25, Overall 4.5.

My second birthday beer is yet another bottle, but I am excited to try this one. I am more of a fan of the hoppier Czech Pilseners, but a German Pils will do. It also gets me one more step closer to the eradication of the Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody.
From the bottle (translated from German): "Brewed according to the Bavarian purity of 1516."; "Our Edelherb is the first Kulmbacher Pils and is brewed according to the original recipe. In memory of the brewer's family. [undersigned] D Reichel"; "With noble aromas. Brewed according to the original recipe. Quality is no accident. Over 40 ongoing checks ensure that our noble heritage is always the most demanding. [undersigned] R. Wallace Head of Quality Assurance".
I Pop!ped the cap and began a moderate pour, but it was rich in carbonation & quickly formed a finger of dense, foamy, bone-white head with great retention, forcing me to back off. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5) with NE-quality clarity and I girded myself for the arrival of the Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus. They surprised me with a modest entrance, carrying a cake with candles & some balloons for me! They even allowed me to drink first before starting in, in earnest. Nose was more metallic than I am used to, but it still had a bready quality. Mouthfeel was medium, but very carbonated. The taste did not really follow the nose as I did not sense anything off about it. Instead, the taste had the honey-drizzled biscuitiness that is the hallmark of the style. Finish was clean, crisp & dry. A very refreshing drink on an unseasonably warm day in late-Febrewary.

A very heavy, thick brown bottle. I appreciate good glass.
The beer itself pours dark gold with a minimal head and decent fizz. The aroma is that of a rather fresh-seeming Munich pils: grassy and floral with some light, spicy hops.
Tastes like a classic example of the style, but that classic-ness is made all the more conspicuous by the fact that it's so fresh-seeming. I don't know if I just lucked upon an especially recent shipment, or maybe if the heavy-duty glass does some good work in lessening the effects of time. The recipe is simple: grass, hay, flowers, hops, and then a dry finish with zero esters. It's just done very well.
Overall, this lacks the "oomph" factor found in my favorite versions of the style, but it was nonetheless a very enjoyable and well-made beer.

This was served on tap at the Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a light clear amber, with a half inch head, and little spots of lacing down the glass.
Smells quite fresh and pilsner-y- classic bready malts and grassy hops. Simple but satisfying.
Like most pilsners, this isn't going to super bold, but there's just a lot of great flavor here anyway. Killer grassy hop character, tiny bit floral, and bready, crackery malts. Slightly grainy, but not much.
This is light bodied, with a clean, crisp, and delightful mouthfeel. The carbonation level is normal, and the drinkability is incredibly high.
One of the better classic Pilsners that I've had, this one should be rated higher.

Serving: On tap at Bier Stube in Moline, IL
Served: 1 Jan 2014
Appearance: Pours a straw colored yellow with a minimal half-finger head. If this was in a bigger glass, I'm sure the head would be more substantial. The head is creamy white and leaves some lacing. Looks pretty good.
Smell: Classic 'beer' smell with a touch of biscuit and herbal bitterness.
Taste: Grassy and grainy, with a baguette bitterness. Minimal hop flavor, but mild hop bitterness. Pretty solid for a traditional German pils.
Feel: Lively and effervescent.
Overall: A good example of the style that won't blow you away but shouldn't leave you underwhelmed either.

Look: clear golden and very good clarity
Smell: roasted grain
Taste: absolutely balanced taste. Unlike some other Pilsner it is very smooth, balanced in bitterness and has a robust malty flavor. Even women like it.
Feel: Very refreshing even in summer time.
Overall: My favorite beer - just can't get it all the time
