500 ml bottle into dimpled mug, best before 12/8/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of honey, nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big cracker, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of honey, nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very mild herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey/nutty/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great robustness and balance of bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero fruity notes present. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that us great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is an excellent keller marzen style! All around great robustness and balance of bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and pretty refreshing to drink; with the very mildly bitter/drying finish. Not overly sweet/malty. Very clean and rich Pils/Munich malt showcase, with mild noble hop balance. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Kulmbacher Brauerei Aktien-Gesellschaft "Mönschof Märzen"
,5l brown glass flip top bottle, "Mindestens halter bis: 12.04.18 E1 23:12" and sampled 26.09.17

Look: Hazy light gold body beneath a full head of fluffy bright white that holds well and leaves some nice long splashes and spots of lacing as it goes.
Smell: Yeasty with sweetish grainy malt and grassy and herbal hops that are noticeable but only moderately strong in the nose.
Taste: As the aroma suggests but with less yeastiness. There is a bit, however, just a touch, that gives it a light tartness that helps to balance its sweetish malt, and that's needed as the bitterness is minimal. It's borderline sweet in the finish but somehow finishes with just a touch of malt lingering, and some lightly spicy and herbal hops to back it up.
Feel: Delicately crisp and then smooth across the palate with a medium body and moderate carbonation.
Overall: At 5.5% ABV would I consider it a good Märzen? No, as it should be stronger. And is it's golden color as opposed to the expected amber OK? Well, yes, according to what I've just sampled at many fest tents at Oktoberfest in München, but overall, no, it should be more amber. Beyond that, is it well-balanced? I'd say for the most part, yes, although it is on the sweetish side. So, in all honesty it's exactly what I'd expect to find at many current herbst fests across Germany, but it's not the Märzen that I learned to love just 30 years ago. It's at least well made.

Poured from fridge temp. Color is surprisingly light. Golden yellow - pale ale style. Carbonation is good. Nose is lager-like. Light hops and some citrus peel. Taste is a bit sweet, but quite mellow. Not bad, but not the best. Not really what I was expecting for the style. Mouthfeel is medium bodied.

Not sure how this rates as a Marzen. It is light colored yellow, thin, slight carbination, and taste like a basic lager. Nothing special but drinkable.

From the bottle, it pours a slightly hazy amber with a nice fluffy head, diminishing slowly. Pleasant scent of malt and light hops. The mouth enjoys in the light malt flavor. Enjoyable and easy to drink.
