Bought a 0,5L can of this at an Aldi around the corner from my hotel in Nuremberg. It was one of the few in the cooler I hadn’t tried but if I looked at the BA score before purchase, I would have put it back. And rightfully so. This is….not good. Barely qualifies as a light German lager. Grainy, malty, sweet, just meh. It’s from Bavaria but it doesn’t do the region any justice.

Pours a crystal clear yellow, with thick head.
Smell is clean and citrusy with notes of crackers and floral hops.
Taste is clean and slightly earthy with notes of crackers, floral hops, ctrus and a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a very nice Helles, clean and crisp.

Pours as a golden and foamy, mildly fermented liquid.
This Monchshof is a very mild and crisp bavarian helles, not as hoppy as most of helles usually are, which surprised me. Delicious and smooth, perfect for a warm summer day. It's quite cheap in Germany and with all its good features it's my go to beer for the next three years we'll live here.

Its a nice pils. Better than a Bitburger. Hop front and malty after taste. A basic go-to brew.
