The rating is all over the place. It has a great dark red appearance and a nice head. The aroma has a nice maltiness and hoppiness to it. The taste is much better. It is malty am hoppy...kind of like a way toned down arrogant bastard. It's definitely their best beer that I tried. It could still use a little more kick to it. Too mild.

A: Cherry red amber with medium fingers and lacing. Low head off the tap. A good looking beer.

S: There are some strong malt and leafy, earthy tones to this beer. Which play on the senses quite well. I rather enjoy the aroma.

T: Very similar to the smell. I rather prefer a non hoppy amber so for me this was quite pleasant but not stellar.

M: Good carbonation in the mouth with a decent body.

O: A solid amber but not a go out of my way to get one.

A: Actual color of amber stone, filtered and clean. Decent carbonation creates a nice O-ring head of off white head.

S: Slightly malty, touch of floral hops

T: Subdued cherry/strawberry flavor with a little bit of roasted bitterness. Minor hops in the aftertaste.

M: Thin and somewhat abbrasive

D: There isn't a lot going on with this beer. Pass

a pretty solid American red ale, although the color is more amber than red, perfectly clear, with a splendid white head but lacking retention. the nose is mildly hoppy, balanced by American red malt and the sweetness that comes with it. the flavor is identical to the nose, but it finishes on a nice fruity hop note, without the sweetness that we typically associate with the style. the finish is long and wet and interesting and fresh. the feel is great, high carbonation and a bigger body than it looks like it should have. there is a fluffy texture that's both light and big, its really nice. makes for a very drinkable beer, better than most local reds in my opinion, and one that I wish made it to Denver beer markets in cans or bottles because itd be a go to refreshing this spring. my second favorite beer I had at this brewery behind only the boss hop Chinook single hop ipa, which was transcendent.

Not one of Gore Range's better beers - it tastes a little raw.

Pours amber with a frothy head. The aroma is strongly plumy. The flavor is grainy and plumy and raw with a slight bitterness on the back end. The mouthfeel is slightly clingy and astringent.
