I bought this years ago and forgot about it. My ghost aunt visited me in a dream and reminded me I had it. It pours a nice amber, a little grumbly on the belly. Nice malt, with a little caramel flavor. Perfect for this holiday.

Brewed 10/24/13, poured 12/8/18
Look: Ruby burnt orange with a tan lacing and head, clear.
Smell: Yeast forward, apple, caramel, sugar, dark fruit
Taste: Mirrors the smell, with the sweetness of the candi sugar up front, yeast, roasted caramel notes, bready
Feel: Great for a 5 year old beer. Slick, effervescent, with a medium body. No signs of degradation.
Overall: I was worried about opening this at 5 years+, but it's pretty good!

bottle from HomeBrewStuff. This did not initially come off as an abbey dubbel, but some of the candy sweetness and Belgian yeast could form the foundation for this. Hints of winter spice evident to make it a holiday ale,

750 ml bottle served in a Belgian snifter.
Copper-orange body with a small, semi-durable, off-white head. Limited lacing. A little extra bonus (.25) for excellent packaging, including an informative hang tag.
Aroma: wet raisins, hay, honey and brown sugar with some alcohol esters and some dark fruit and floral notes. Despite this description it is actually less appealing than hoped for and clearly the weak spot of this ale.
Flavor: Lightly sweet, fruity and mildly spicy.
Feel: Medium body and medium, soft carbonation. Smooth and soft.
O: A nice ale for winter holidays, summer evenings, or many other occasions.

On tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.
Pours a clear copper with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, dark fruit, spice, and alcohol aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour malt, caramel, dark fruit, and spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid caramel and dark fruit qualities, even after almost 2 years old.
Serving type: on tap.

Poured into a Dogfish Head IPA glass.
A - Color is dark orange with a nice head that reduces quickly.
S - Aroma is Belgian yeast and bananas. Really great aroma.
T - Taste is what you would expect from a Belgian Dubbel, yeasty with bananas.
M - Medium mouth feel and carbonation.
O - This is a very good Belgian-style beer. Very tasty and I'll pick up a 2015 as soon as I see one on the shelf.

Coming Home pours a bronze color with a small lacing head. There is a sweet aroma, with a nice mellow sugary candy notes. The taste is also sweet, but not too sweet, with a mellow sugary candy flavors, and caramel. Good flavors, and good body. Overall its a very nice and nice drinking dubbel.
