Very Good
Teton Range IPATeton Range IPA
Notes: For Teton Range IPA, Idaho grown and malted barley make up 90% of the grain bill. We use a variety of Idaho hops including one of our new favorites, Idaho 7. The combination of these unique hops makes Teton Range IPA an amazingly aromatic and flavorful beer. We focus on late hop additions in the kettle to boost the aroma and keep the bitterness low. Pungent aromas of tropical fruits like mango and papaya, hints of pine, hard candy and citrus rind are prominent. The flavor is juicy, like fresh squeezed tropical fruit with some pine in the background. The beer has a deep gold color and strong head retention. The crisp, balanced flavors of Teton Range IPA create a delicious, drinkable beer.

Bottle into pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy light-amber with an immense white head. Initial impression is primarily malts, with citrus and earthy hops contributing. Mouthfeel is medium, as is carbonation. Finish is a little sweet, which is a nice surprise. Good but not great.

Bottled April 6th, drink within 4 months, on the label. Pours a hazy orange, excellent head of foam and retention. Smells of grapefruit, pine, suggests tropical fruit. Grapefruit and pine make things hoppy, lowish bitterness. Some tropical fruit with a good dose of caramel and bread malt. Decent balance, good mouthfeel. 6.5%abv.

12 oz. Bottle
Bottled On: 03/29/2017

Drink within 4 months.

Pours a slightly hazy dark golden orangy color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with some citrus. The taste is hoppy, malty, kinda citrusy. Medium body, ABV hidden pretty well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a tasty thirst quencher.

Grand Teton Brewing Co. spent 18 months creating 18 pilot batches to develop Teton Range IPA. It is currently available on tap at the brewery but, word is, they plan to bottle it soon. This is a flavorful, aromatic IPA with hints of tropical fruits and some pine with a deep gold color. A nice balance overall, with 6.5% ABV and 62 IBUs.

6/29/18....pours cloudy yellow golden copper with a ring of white foam. Mellow malty smell, light. Hearty pine bitter, citrus backed, pervasive. Holds its bitter well. Nicely blended IPA, good signature beer.

Mildly hazy, golden hued body; dense, chunky head; plenty of foam rings and sheets of lacing down the glass. Dull, ripe fruit aroma; grassy and earthy; some citrus. Malty flavor; caramel; suggestion of grapefruit rind; mild yet sharp bitterness. Heavy body; prickly on the palate; a little tangy; mostly dry finish overall.

A rock-solid American IPA, heavy with the hop bitterness with decent citrus and pine notes.

Draft at BitterCreek. Pale golden, slightly hazy, mildly fruity. Gentle bitterness. Dries out at the finish. Seems session able, but quite potent, even for an IPA.

On tap at the source

Pours a light copper to light Amber with minimal foam head. Nose is bright with both earthyness and light fruityness. Taste of ripe tropical fruits, citrus skin, pine needles, wildflowers and pale malt. Nice smooth mouthfeel that fades to a semi dry finish.

From notes taken 06/18/17:

Fairly opaque or uniformly mirky golden amber with pinkish hues. Gives off a Wheat Ale with fruit vibe. Head is a weightless, fine foam, creamy white with moderate retention. Aromas of sweet pine, tropical fruit like pineapple and orange, some doughy yeast and alcoholic burn. Very enticing. Definitely pineapple character on palate, but subdued enough to allow for a more generic, almost metallic tartness and a grainy to grassy backdrop. Then you have the bitter finish, slightly more soapy than piney. Medium-bodied, thicker than water, gulpy with soft and smooth but tight and fine carbonation, just starting to tingle by the finish of an average sip. Quite a difference serving at an appropriate temperature and by itself compared to the overly chilled one I had at a friend’s house during dinner the other night. Good either way, albeit a little too bitter in a soapy way when slightly warmed up.
