Not a fan of this one A TALL. Looks great in the glass. Clear and light caramel color with a beautiful, foamy head. Generous lacing down the side of the glass. Aroma was sweet and boozy and almost like a malt liquor. At 6.2%, that’s a problem. Flavor was more of the same: overly sweet and alcoholic. Significant burn in the finish. Boozy and sweet and not good IMO.

A: Pours with a more cloudy appearance that I would have thought. With a dark orange haze. A small white head forms and recedes. Light lace is left behind.
S: At first, all soapy hops. Some citrus orange, and grapefruit. Though not very aromatic and fairly simple.
T: Yep, that soapy hop character detracts for me. It also becomes very solvent like. Getting past that, there is some orange and grapefruit flavors. Some bread and sweeter malts. Though oddly, lacking any real bitterness for the style.
M/O: A medium body with good carbonation. Though soapy and muddled. With some flaws that detracts for me. This is not an IPA I can rate highly, and not one a really want to come back to.
I generally enjoy Diamond Bear, but this is one that I am not a fan of. A fairly mediocre IPA that I am surprised hasn't been reformulated in some way over the years. Needs the hops to pop more, and less of a soapy/solvent character.

Pours reddish amber and no head to speak of. The nose is caramel and bitter. The taste is nutty and caramel, with a bitter kick at the end. The follow-though has a bite on the sides of the back tongue. Decent beer.

Pretty golden amber, pleasant aroma. Taste is a balanced, not particularly special taste with slight citrus lean and slight bitter remaining taste. It's ok - nothing remarkable but a nice change from the very hoppy/ citrus brews.

Amber color with nothing special on the nose. Hop residue on the palate after an initial malt infusion on the first taste. Tastes better colder. A decent if unremarkable entry to the category.
