A: Plenty of head, great retention, and spectacular lacing. Golden amber and slightly hazy. With distinct legs, it looks like the hefty beer it claims to be (8.5%).

S: Crystal malts dominate the nose. Faint alcohol. Hops are in the background and sort of vague, certainly less than expected for a big IPA.

T: Malty and a touch sweet. Lots of caramel, some toffee, hints of honey-like sweetness. Slightly grainy at the margins. Hops are definitely there for bittering, but seem to just balance the malts. Citrus rind and maybe some pine. General C-hop impression. Not really noticing the booze in the palate. Actually, it is pretty clean for its size. It has plenty of malts, but I was expecting a bit more complexity. The biggest thing, though, is the shyness of the hops (especially for aroma and flavor).

M: A bit beyond medium body with okay carbonation level. Slightly slick and a little bit sticky. Semi-sweet finish with alcohol warmth.

D: Doesn't really smell or taste as big as it looks, feels, and is. But is clearly not a session beer (too much body & abv). It is more of a sitting and thinking beer. Mostly I was wondering were the hops were. It would also have been nice to have some more complexity to contemplate in a beer of this size. Overall there is nothing really wrong with it, but there does seem to be room for improvement.

I got a can of this beer from my good friend and old neighbor from the 'Wego. It poured a clear amber with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had hints of pine and bitter citrus. The taste was bitter leaning through the drink with rough pine resin presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is an ok beer.

I did not enjoy this beer. It’s a very grassy tasting IPA? I can enjoy a grassy taste, but it wasn’t expected in a DIPA. It finished like I had chewed on a very old citrus fruit rind or an aspirin.

Poured into a glass, bright copper colored, small head. Malty sweetness in the smell, taste turns bitter and tannic. I see others talking citrus in the smell and taste. I don't. Medium carbonation, overall not my fave.

A solid, malty leaning taste. It's a g special relief from the typical IPAs and pale ales. I really enjoyed the discovery.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, golden-copper coloring, with a solid amount of sediment suspension, a few strong legs of carbonation, and a filmy, clingy, off-white head. Aromas of tropical fruits, with a subtle astringency peeking through in there. Some grassy highlights in the nose, too. Flavors are grassy and tropical fruit sweet forward, with a blend of melon, apricot, and mango. Very sweet, almost sugary sweet, with the grassy hops notes developing a subtle herbal tone further down the palate. Roasted overtones, too. The body is chewy and dry, and there is a subdued aftertaste of fruit sweetness and subtle sugary residue. The finish is slick, oily, and slightly dry, with a cloying fruit sweet linger. Not bad, but nothing that really sets it apart for me.
