I've had some top notch IPAs along side this beer and this beer was a step above above all of them. Damn tasty brew, dank, sticky, citrus bomb. Makes some west coast IPAs seem like bready malt bombs.

12 ounce bottle into a pint glass. The hop lights pours a light golden in color with a hint of haze. A thin cap of off white foam settles to a splotchy ring in a minute or so. Churns up a light film as needed.
Aroma is full of tropical fruit, citrus and a mild piney backbone, touch of hop spice.
Taste is bright and fruity, balanced by smooth malts. Citrusy melon on the finish along with some peppery spice notes. Offers a fine spritzy delivery all the way through the palate which carries and cloaks the malt backdrop allowing for an easy quaff. Overall bright and flavorful, no real sweetness to deter and a balanced spicy bitterness on the close lingers.

This one definitly is a low key hottie. She doesn’t rock the Louie bag, nor the Jimmy Chu flats. She’s a bit shy and stuff, and maybe in Gap jeans for all I know. That said, when you take a deeper look and really get to know her, you realize she’s good. She may not be top of the pyramid “hot,” but she still shows up and gives you a quality AB.

When in California, do as the Californians do. ...and drink West Coast IPA! Karl Strauss greets visitors and residents alike with a classic, traditional and truly west coast IPA chocked full of Simcoe and Amarillo hops. But its use of newer Mosaic and Citra hops give the taste a fruity and more herbal update.
Pale gold and hinting toward the bronze side of saturation, the beer crowns with a frothy ivory cap. As the scents of citrus, spruce and tropical fruit flow across the nose, the first sip is slightly savory with bread crust, toasted nuttiness and light caramel to suggest something of graham cracker.
But once the hops billow on the middle palate, its floral aroma turns fruity with a burst of orange, grapefruit and a sharpness of lime. Rolling along the tastebuds, complementary fruit flavors of pineapple, mango and berries add to the quick complexity before the taste turns decidedly bitter, crisp and herbal.
Medium bodied and trending dry, Aurora Hoppyalis finishes bitter with bold suggestions of peppery resins, pine, hemp and the fruit skins of currant, citrus peel and tropical fruit rinds for a long and bitter afterglow.

Pint can - canned on 10/22/21:
Pours lightly hazed yellow with a white head that lasts. Spotted lacing sticks.
The smell is very robust - pineapple, tangerine with pine mixed in.
The taste is of tropical fruits, especially pineapple with tangerine and a touch of honeydew melon. Sweet malt backbone shows especially in the middle. Resinous pine and fruity bitterness in the finish. Alcohol is reasonably well-hidden.
It holds together throughout. A refreshing bitter bite in the finish, but not harsh.
A hop-forward West Coast IPA. Nice mix of robust aromas and tastes. Well-made and very enjoyable!
