Poured clear reddish-copper with a creamy off-white head. Moderate lacing. Sweet Belgian yeast nose with a good amount of malt and spice. Smooth mouthfeel, sticky-sweet, and a long finish. More sweetness in the taste, with a strong yeast ester profile. Spicy with corriander and dried fruits. Avoided tghe syrupy sweet side some Belgians dip into. The alcohol hid well until it warmed, then it had a little of a liquer taste. You felt it pretty strong as well.

Quite sweet and toothsome. Kind of a candy-coated golden ale with just a touch of Belgian character. Really red-orange with a touch of amber. Brewery says it's 7.6% ABV and 20 IBU. A bit coarse in the carbonation and surprisingly light mouthfeel. Lip-smacking good if you're in the mood for a caramel malt treat. It's just so sweet with a peculiar taste like fruit leather, some kind of dried apple juice.
Makes a nice jolt but not as interesting as many other Karl Strauss beers. Supposed to have this on cask this week as well.

On tap at the Costa Mesa location. Poured a cloudy red color with a thin head that faded to leave a thin lace on the beer, but none on the glass. Smell had some noble hops, and a sweet belgian aroma. Taste was similar, with a very belgian yeast profile and a bit of sweetness. Bitterness in the finish tasted like noble hops.

Poured a nice deep red color with a small white head. Nose was sweety, sticky but muted. i did notice some dried fruits and candy. Taste was big Belgian yeast, subtle hops and big on dried fruits(raisins, prunes, apples) and even candied fruits. Mouthfeel was good and sticky, pretty heavy as the ABV on mine was around 8. Worth a try if ito this style.
