Bottle served in a tulip. Pours black with little head or residual lacing. Nose is undeniably peanuts. Taste is peanuts also. Not much depth of flavor. Mouthfeel is really thin.

22 oz bottle poured into Spiegelau glass

A: light brown to shades of black but it is a lighter brown with decent clarity thick fat bubbly head that dies to a film

S: peanut butter light nuttiness

T: nice peanut butter some roasted maltiness very light

M: thin and watery but touches of creaminess from the peanut butter taste

O: It tastes great but its watery and thin without the peanut butter its just average I would not grab this again.

Holy you know what Batman! The nose on this is like sticking your nose into a tub of fresh peanut butter. This is perhaps the most assertive wonderful peanut butter nose I've ever smelled in a beer. It is a Reeses peanut butter cup - Period!

Unfortunately, it all ends with the nose. Mouth feel is thin and watery with no body, character or complexities. Almost tastes like a peanut butter scented water. More unfortunate is that flavor profile follows in like order.

Flavors are thin, simple, and feint. Tastes like "brown water" with a hint of super light decaf coffee.

Love the smell however.

Wasn't sure what a peanut butter porter beer would taste like, but tried it draft while in San Diego at local restaurant. Was surprising good, very smooth, sweet (but not too much). Not as much peanut butter taste as the belching beaver peanut butter milk stout, but was a good tasting beer. Would recommend trying it.

Looked great, smells incredible, like a Reese's. Taste was flat, with a metallic, bitter, lingering aftertaste while I was expecting a sweet one. Overall this beer is "eh".

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.

Real big foamy three finger head. THick solid retention and capped and settles evenly, with a color of head that is extremely light almost brown vanilla creme in color. Body color is a real nice mahogany brown with some seriously dark red highlights on it. VEry nice looking brew.

Holy carp does this aroma and bouquet just rio, even off the pour. Choclate and peanut butter in leaps and bounds, with a nice sweet carob like sense, forgoing milky and cocoa richness, and hints of almost raspberry like fruit. The nutty angle on this is also creamy, with that hint of icing sugar and even more fruity character. PB cup in a glass for sure.

The palate after this just comes as a let down. Mildly sour acridness hinting, with hints of some fruity ester berry quality. Raspberry like milk chocolate and an almost weak kirsch cherry sense. Real light porter body, and very wet with not much roast character or coating through the palate. Peanut actions seems completely lost as well on the palate, and not much malt coating either.

The beer is overall pretty interesting but takes a big 180 degree turn it seems once it hits your lips. Where is the chocolate and peanut flavor on the palate? It's other qualities in flavor are not bad, but you feel set up for greatness only to be let down even harder.

Golden-red inflected brown color; minimal head. Nice nutty-salty note, with bits of mocha and dry cocoa. Interesting salty texture—more than much in the way of true peanut taste—but some nice soil qualities, some cocoa-nib fruity bitters, and a touch of blonde-roast coffee. Very thin mouthfeel, with minimal head bespeaking very tenuous effervescence. And, overall, tenuously a "porter"—English or otherwise—but not a terrible dessert beer, for what it's worth, mostly delivering on the elements it promises, without ever straying into the excessive, cloying areas these types of beers sometimes do.

Appearance: Pours dark brown with some bright gold/orange-ish highlights. Decent head retention.

Smell: Peanut butter, chocolate, and some roasting notes in the nose.

Taste: Wow. I got all of the peanut butter cup-ness in the first sip. Good. What surprised me the most was the very pleasant vanilla notes mid-taste. Then the beer finished with a really nice porter sharpness on the tongue. A lot of layers to this one.

Mouthfeel: Medium to thin body, straight down the middle. I would have liked a little more mouthfeel.

Drinkability: Very smooth drinking. Balanced and interesting. If you’re intrigued by the name of the beer (I was - I’m a Reese’s mega fan), you owe it to yourself to try this. Recommend!
