There is no reason for this beer to exist beyond cheap people wanting to get drunk faster.
Unless you are in a frat, don't bother.

Decent beer that I swap in and out of rotation. Prefer the original to this version but still has a place in my fridge.

Pabst Blue Ribbon 5,9%. One of the most cheapest and popular beer on the market.

You have that corny smell. The smell is not offensive.

The taste is like the smell. But on the finish it's terrible. And the after taste is not that great at all. Maybe is because of the agent than sleeman put in their pabst but hey it's drinkable and this is one of the best economic beer on the market.

Would I recommend it ? Sure, for the price u can t go wrong with that.

Would I buy it again ? NO

first (and probably last) objective review of this beer - Can : date code says this sample was racked 63 days ago... pours a clear pale gold with a 1 finger white cap that reduces t a surface foam and laces the glass...aroma still fairly fresh has a bready-graininess light mustiness some maltose can be detected, no off smells but little evidence of hops...flavor verges on bland, but there is enough pale malts to keep my interest and light noble hopping in a support role, not too sweet but not dry either....rounded malty clean finish with light hop presence at the end....also a little hint of fusel alcohol detectable....certainly not a German helles but it is what it is, a corporate mass volume gristed malt+ LME with hop oils CO2 charged lager...but it has had some time in cold conditioning to attain the rounded smoothness and has more malts than PBR (from Sleeman) to get the 5.9 abv...if you like a cheap sturdy satisfying lager to slam on a hot day, you could do much worse than this beer..IMHO this is what Molson Canadian wished it was

my go-to beer for get-togethers.
has a little bit of an off malt and alcohol smell to it, but i prefer the taste and feel of this to regular PBR after having it fairly often.

Appearance: Clear straw color with average head retention.

Smell: Light sweet malt aroma with what resembles as a vague apple cider smell.

Taste/Feel: Contrary to alot of preconception on "cheap beers", the taste is OK. There is nothing special about it. Light carbonation similar to cider that leaves a sweet malty taste with the dryness of cider(again). A hint of ethanol can be tasted, but it seems normal since the taste is so light for a 5.9 and hops does'nt "dominate" anything here. Not much to cover the ethanol, but not unpleasent.

Overall: A nice looking neutral beer that does'nt seek prestige but delivers a predictable taste. Proof that "cheap" does'nt mean bad.

Cheers!!!

Appearance - Pours a clear golden straw color with 3 fingers head, not much carbonation after the fact. looks the same as regular PBR.

Aroma - lager spring water aroma, corn, sweet grain, alcohol.

Taste - The taste follows the aroma with very sweet and alcoholy not very tasty.

Feel - the exact same as regular pbr but with more bitterness on the back end from the alcohol...

Overall - This is nothing more than a cheap higher alcohol aaj. I would rather drink an extra pbr to get more of a buzz than have such a strong alcohol taste in my beer.

355ml single can, as produced at the Sleeman facilities in Guelph, Ontario, and represented by Stroh Canada. Let the fun begin - oh, and nice blurry image here - suitable for this unnecessary release.

This beer pours a clear, bright pale golden yellow colour, with three fat fingers of puffy, quite loosely foamy, and mildly bubbly off-white head, which leaves some sparse streaky and sudsy lace around the glass as it steadily blows off.

It smells of sugary pale malt and corn grist, faint nail polish remover, tainted drupe fruit notes, and a bland earthy bitterness, which is probably the booze. The taste is acrid grainy Frankenmalt, acetone, overripe pear and stale apple, weak hay bale notes, and a growing alcohol astringency.

The carbonation is quite light and effervescent, and not really interested in tickling my palate as such, the body medium-light in weight, but to no one's real benefit, and sickly in its plebeian attempt at smoothness. It finishes too damned sweet, too damned astringent, and too damned hipster malt liquorish (holy shit, that's a word?).

Blah - I'm sure this will play to the subset of the Pabst brand's target market that steps out more than once and a while to the likka store on the corner (around from the trendy pub) and grabs a forty of whatever's on the bottom shelf. It's pretty much no different than Black Ice, TNT, or Lucky Extra, but, y'know it'll be embraced more lovingly by a less than worthy culture as soon as word gets out. Fuck.
