Really easy place for me to get to as it's less than a 15 minute drive basically, but at the same time, once you're here, the view by the window is absolutely exceptional watching the water from the Winooski River flow down and in the Spring when the caps are melting off the mountains in the East, well, yeah, the view says it all. However, as far as beer selection, well, it's somewhat limited - yes, there's Fiddlehead, Rodenbach, and some Frost, but every time I've been here, they're always out of the Hill Farmstead tap, odd, but whatever. They do seem a bit wine heavy, but okay, I get it. People enjoy that wine stuff. This is a very clean and high quality place and that's a given.

Went here for lunch after loading up at Beverage Warehouse.

The place is really beautiful, right on the Winooski River. Huge windows, so you can see the river from almost everywhere.

The beer selction isn't massive, but varied, with many locals. When I was here, thay had some Four Quarters and Frost, along with quality Europeans like Rodenbach.

Service was perfect, from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Perfect attention, and just super friendly.

The food was also amazing. Great clam chowder to start, and the burger was easily one of the three best I've had, and I'm a burger guy. The bun was superb, and I was told they make it in house, every day. That sort of detail just really flies well with me.

Overall, I loved Waterworks, one of the best meals of the trip, great service and great locale.

Waterworks Food & Drink, let me see, yes, I seem to recall... good looking place, and I got to sit overlooking the falls which was great in the early summer as it brought up a very fine mist that moisturized the air and offered a bit of something to look at. In cooler weather they also have outdoor heaters for the patio, which is probably nice as well, and actually, now that I think about it, probably even nicer. It's picturesque. I can't speak for the inside because I just took a quick look, but what I saw looked pleasant, and fairly "upscale".

The service was good but I wouldn't rank it a hell of a lot over a general Applebee's or T.G.I.Friday's, but it's better by at least a touch. As I recall the food runner that brought my food had to ask who'd ordered what, which isn't important to most people, but if you're paying $24 for steak frites or a half-chicken that might be a nice detail.

The beer selection was very good (13 taps with 65-70% being local, and about 20 bottles that thankfully include roughly 10 of the basics like Guinness, Heineken, and Bud), and although my server wasn't really able to help me with my selection, she tried, and even called someone else over for assistance- although neither of them were really able to describe what I actually received in the end (Four Quarters "Opus Humulus", $7.50 / 10 oz.). No worries though, the draft beer list is well chosen, and I was quite happy with what I'd ordered (although it wasn't quite right to go with my dish). Which brings us to...

... the food. On a scale of 1 to 5 I'd put it at a 4, but if you expand that scale to say 1 to 100 it might be more like an 85 or 86, maybe even an 87. That's still not bad, but I think you get the picture. As to pricing, I felt it was a little bit high, but I guess you're paying for the location. I won't mention any of the competition specifically, but there's at least one place in Burlington that's looked at as being pricey yet actually offers a better all-around meal and experience for roughly the same or less.

Probably worth trying.
