The entry was through a door on the porch overlooking the parking lot, which opened directly onto the m.d.s., continuing down a ramp lined with B & W photos on the walls. The restaurant area was an extensive lot of standard tables and chairs with booths lining many of the walls. Further aft, past the restaurant area was a private meeting room where a wedding shower was being held on the occasion of our visit. To left of m.d.s. was a game room with fun house mirrors, followed by a long, wood-topped bar plus booths and tables.

Their claim to fame, in addition to beer, is their seafood and I had salmon, scallops, and crab-stuffed mushrooms. Just like at the original location of Scranton, the décor had a distinctly nautical theme.

Beers: 22 on draft, many of which were seasonals. The BT selection was enormous and impressive, consisting of three pages in a menu format. I (mostly) drink local, so I opted for Victory Prima Pils.

Coopers in Pittston is one of the best bars in that area of the woods. There food has always been good, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Their bar area is really big, though not as big as Scranton.
I actually came here before the other one. And when I first came here the selection for everything was really great. It seems as though their craft beer drinkers are dwindling though because the beer menu has become increasingly watered down. But if your in the area they should have something that will wet your appetite.

Before i moved i actually lived across the river, in West Pittston, from cooper's. My sister also worked as a hostess at this fine establishment. The atmosphere is great. The building is placed right along side the river edge and it is a great place to be at night. The food is very good however as my sister can tell you the service staff isnt always the friendliest though there are some bright faces now and again. The selection in both food and beer is exceptional. I was attempting to find a number of beers they served but i lost count. The food is very good and filling. Filling is actually an understatment because they give baked potatoes half the size of my head (no lies). Because of they're exceptional food the price isnt always for the short of cash BUT if you have money kicking around Cooper's Seafood house is a great place to spend your money.

December 2005:

My wife and I were visiting her family in West Pittston this week and we made our way across the bridge to check out Cooper's Seafood House. I was very pleased with everything accept our sever, and that was just happenstance that we got a woman having a rough day. Other than that it was a FANTASTIC experience. We took our two kids and two of my younger cousins and it was great for all of us.

They were nice enough to sit us at a very large table in the back room (by the big windows) where my daughter could color and make a mess :) in peace. They had crayons, a hat and boat for her, it was terrific. The kids meal is served in an adorable paper boat. Point is: it’s a kid friendly place with LOTS of great beer.

The view was amazing. We sat beside huge plate glass windows overlooking the Susquehanna River and the two bridges that cross from Pittston to West Pittston. Fantastic. The street it is on does not seem like it is a very classy neighborhood, but that changes when you walk in the door. It definitely is warm and welcoming.

The Selection on the food menu was great but overshadowed (IMO) by the beer menu. They have 21 taps and over 140 different bottles from around the world. If you can't find something you like then you haven't tried. Very impressive, especially for central Pennsylvania.

The prices for food range tremendously depending on what you are hoping to get. For lunch the Fish and Chips (great BTW) were $8.99 and for dinner the Land and Sea (steak and lobster tails) was about $24.00, so I would not call it outrageous, but a bit pricier than other places in the area. I do feel that the quality justifies the price!

I highly recommend stopping by Cooper's Seafood House if you are in the (remote) area of Pittston. I will certainly go back again.

Hope this is helpful.

My wife and I took our son to see the trains at Steamtown in Scranton. Following an afternoon of steam, coal, and whistles, I needed a beer. I'd heard about this place, and couldn't wait to visit.
It's easy to find, with a large parking log. The building is hard to miss, considering the giant octopus hanging off the roof. There's an outdoor dining/drinking area, and two different indoor bars. We ate in a back dining room with typical "theme-restaurant" flair. Of course, it has a local slant.
The service was curious, quick, and generally knowledgeable about the beer. Our waitress was a young (underage?) girl, but she obviously knew a little about the beers on tap and in bottles. There seemed to be over a dozen beers on tap, including Belgians and hard-to-find domestic micros. They even had Arrogant Bastard for $3.50 per draft.
I had chowder, oysters, and a little fish. Seemed to be fresh and all of it was very tasty. Prices (for lunch) were extremely reasonable.
I've simply got to come back here.
