Had on draft. Pours an effervescent light golden straw color. Aroma and flavor feature sweet corn, light grain, and just a kiss of hops. A bit sweet for me but definitely more flavorful than the average AAL. Solid.

Pours a golden straw color. There are over two fingers worth of white-colored head, with excellent duration for a cheap adjunct lager. The aroma is very...beery, for lack of a better term. While it has notes of sweet crackery malts and cereal grain, there's a bit more hoppiness compared to *AHEM* others in the style, LOOKING AT YOU BUDWEISER. The taste is everything I expected - a no-nonsense blend of crackery malts and some corn, with a subtly hoppy finish. Very subtle, but it's there. While it doesn't seem special from the onset, its overall structure, balance, and harmony are a step or two above the usual cheap lager suspects. It goes down crisply with little fanfare, as the dry finish and decent (but not oppressive) carbonation keep it nice and clean. As far as cheap lagers go, this is close to the top of the heap. It has more flavor AND more balance than something like Budweiser, Miller, or Coors. I'd even say it's even better than Hamm's (my go-to adjunct lager). Too bad I can't find it in the Mid-Atlantic region, because I'd buy and drink this like crazy...

AALs tend to be pretty darn sweet. This is an AAL that still tastes like "beer." There are some grassy noble hop aromas and flavors to offset the adjuncts.

I've enjoyed bottles, cans, taps for over 30 years here in MN. Today: 12oz bottle into a vintage GBP 7oz tasting glass.
L: Pours a crystal clear pale straw yellow gold with a 1" sudsy white head that recedes in a minute. Good medium carbonation and some spotty lacing.
S: Wild flowers, corn, caramel, grains, light bread malt.
T: Corn, malt, light sweet bread, grains, a trace of hops. It is not bitter in any way nor is it too sweet. There are no lingering flavors in the finish.
F: GBP has a light-bodied smooth mouthfeel with a brisk start, a mild middle that is a tiny bit soapy and a fast clean finish.
O: A smooth, clean drinking crushable adjunct lager that is great year-round. It is a very pleasant beer to drink and is readily availible throughout MN. GBP also tastes great with Mr. & Mrs. T's Bloody Mary mix. Enjoy this beer!

So. I have been looking for this brew back east for a number of years as one of the top examples of this style. Tonight I made it to a Twins game in Minnesota and here it be. 10 bones for a tall boy isn't even bad for an MLB game.

Pure adjunct in the nose. This is tasty and a touch fruity with a minimum of hops or fruit or flavor and a little too much carbonation. Still. I can see the appeal. It has drinkablity down to a tee.

16oz can stamped 01/27/21 poured into a pilsner glass at fridge temp, no ABV listed on can. The beer very bright, pale yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to an irregular ring and leaves a good amount of lacing. The aroma is faint with just a whisper of grain. The taste is fairly nuetral with a mild pale malt & corn taste, a hint of tartness and no perceptible hop influence or bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with slightly above average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, very good.

This has got to be one of the worst "if not the worst" beer I have ever had! Bought a 6-pack just to try to experiment and try something different and this was a mistake! I am selling the rest of the 5 bottles on FB Marketplace because it is so bad and I could only have one! This is a very sweet beer that tastes like a sweet wine with a very corny taste and smell! It is almost water with some wine and corn added to it and that is about it! No body and to me just a watered-down wine with a sweet wine, blueberry flavor taste and sweet corn smell like other reviewers have noted! COMPLETE GARBAGE of a beer and waste of $ and DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND! Please, save your $ and do not buy!!!!!! Would give this less than a 0 rating if I could!

Had from bottles and cans numerous times. A great American lager. Clean, crisp, a little sweet and a hint of corn adjunct. Goes down quick and hits the spot for me.

If I could rate this so called beer a " 0 " I would. Absolutely no flavor what so ever. I can't believe it's even called beer. It should be call yellowish water. Do not waste your 5 bucks on a 6pack of this. It's not even enough to brew it.

Pours an incredibly pale yellow. Sweet grains with almost a hint of pear and browned butter for the smell. Taste is almost exactly like the smell- very sweet with a slight undertone of fruitiness with a solid malt character. Nothing noteworthy on the feel of it but I'd drink this over bud, natty, PBR, Coors, or Miller any day of the week.

This beer pours as a very light yellowish body with a thin white foam.

The smell is mediocrity. It is the smell that makes people say, I don’t think I like beer.

The taste is surprisingly decent. It is a very standard wheaty taste. Not too many additional notes, unless you use your imagination.

This beer is one that you can pound at tailgates.

This beer goes down pretty good.

Grain Belt Premium, 4.6% ABV. Real pale yellow, drank from the bottle so no head. Nose is sweetness and corn. Taste is mostly watery, some sweetness. Light carbonation, OK mouthfeel. Overall OKish. Another beer I had in the past before I got into craft, but never reviewed it. I recall the 1970's vintage having more flavor.

Light yellow, clear, frothy head. Many brewery tours with free pitchers at the original Nordeast Mpls site 50 yrs ago. Similar, but drier than the original regular Grainbelt. Schells is a good custodian for the recipe.

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear, light lemon-water color with a golden-hue and a stronger white head.
Aroma: Very strong aromas of sweet honey, biscuit, corn, and malt liquor. A little grassy skunk. Can almost smell from across the room of honey and malt liquor.
Flavor: Strong honey, raw grain, yeast, corn, rice and malt liquor. Similar to the nose, but more grains and yeast. Less honey, malt liquor. Still a lot of adjunct flavor and reminds me of Saki. Yet, still some what which is pleasant. Finishes clean and crisp, slightly sweetened corn on the tongue
Feel: Clean, crisp. Just enough yeast to give it a nice crisp finish. Lighter bodied as expected. Decent carbonation.

Overall: An okay adjunct lager. Tons of flavor, but comes at the expense of adjunct flavor over the flaked grain. A little sweeter corn and malt liquor, but also has more grain and yeast to clean it off. More flavor overall, and I'd rate it very well for the style.

From a can. Golden color with fluffy white head. Sweet grain smell. Light feel with good carbonation. Sweet malt flavor with some corn in the background. Drank plenty of this in college! It's no craft beer but the taste is a bit cleaner than the big macro lagers.
