Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a bright and clear golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Solid two fingers of white head which slowly fade into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a good amount of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A bready and sweet malt forward aroma that has some more hop presence than the 84 version. Upfront pale malt with hints of grains, straw, biscuit, cereal, and yeast. Citrus fruit hints of orange and lemon. Earthy and floral hops with some hints of grass. Some spicy hop hints as well. A pretty solid aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a crisp, bready, and fairly sweet malt driven taste with good notes of biscuit and earthy hops. Pale malts with some upfront notes of biscuit, grains, straw, cereal, and yeast. Good citrus fruit notes of lemon and orange. Floral, earthy, and spicy hops with some notes of grass. A very solid pilsener taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, clean, and very smooth with a fairly drying finish.

Overall: A very solid pilsener taste. A little hoppier than the original but nicely balanced and clean.

poured 12oz bottle into Pils glass.

A - Warm, clear light yellow with a pillowy 3 finger white head. Excellent retention and perfect lines of webbed lacing on glass.

S - Big floral, spicy hop presence along with a very clean malt scent. Some grain and very mild citrus notes.

T - For a Pils this one starts off with the hops. Bold with a floral and spicey flavor that moves into a very mild citrus taste. A very clean, cracker malt with grains finish this off.

M - Well carbonated and quite dry for a Pils. Very crisp and refreshing.

O - So I probably enjoyed this because it is quite different from a typical malty Pils. The hops are much more present that you would expect for this style and I like it.

Crisp and refreshing but nothing to write home about. Good beer to start with.

Poured into classic pilsner glass and classic looking it is. I feel like a beer commerial from the late 1960's.
Nice sweet hop aroma (kind of a surprise in what it packs not that it is there). A bit of sulfur. A slight grainy background, but the sweet fruit/herbal aroma is nice.
Nice white head caps a brilliantly clear yellow/gold body. Some lacing. "Here's to you"
Well mixed malt and hop character with each present and accounted for throughout the drink. A bit of that lager sourness and then drying on the finish with a lingering hop flavor (not as strong as some for style, but I like where this one is at). I like the grainy malt flavor, but again the hops are the show here. Fresh and flavorful, drying, bittering and overall interesting.
Body is as it should be - carbonated highly (which is filling) on a lighter body drink.
This seems less rich than the previous derivation of this beer and I, therefore, find it easier to drink and more likely to have another.

Drinking this while watching the first match of the 2014 World Cup, Brazil vs. Croatia. Tasted 12 June 2014.

Pours a very clear pale golden yellow. Like diluted filtered apple juice. One finger of white head, good retention and decent lacing.

Smell is warm, golden, and corny. Very grainy, mildly sweet. Has a bit of the crisp hop bite, but not as much as I'd like.

Taste is more peppy. Some zip and some saaz hop bite. Kinda peppery, kinda prickly, kinda herbal. That spice and a little bitterness provide a nice balance for the warmth and sweetness (both of which are reduced from the smell).

Feel is fine. Medium-light body. A little more mouth-filling than I expect it to be. Lasts longer than I want it to, which makes it less refreshing, as it loses some of the crispness in the finish.

An okay pilsener. Drinkable, but nothing special about it. Reasonably flavorful, but not all that flavorful; reasonably varied, but not all that varied. Unremarkable, but not bad.

12oz bottle from the "30th anniversary pilsner series" 12-pack. drank out of the bottle for these notes.

smell is clean earth hops and delicious creamed wheat. taste is like the 1984, but with less sweet bread and more bittering earth and pine.

this one and the roggen were my favorites
