Pours a cloudy orange with a bubbly white head.
Fruit leads in the aroma department: Peach and apricot followed by a hint of ginger and a subtle vinegar note.
Taste is tart apricot and peach, maybe a touch of sweet pear, a snap of ginger and a bit of funk. Even a little raisin and a tiny bit of vinegar acidity.
Mouthfeel is medium and bubbly.
Yummy and refreshing.

Mount Royal Bottle Shop - Duluth, MN

Dawn of Aurora pours with a sunset orange body and surprisingly good clarity. I could read a book through the body if I so chhose, I do not. The foam is an off white, leaning more toward linen and easy to grow on the pour while just as easy to fall. While it does settle it never falls past a sturdy cap, the carbonation rushing to the surface makes sure of that.

This is an odd smelling beer, much different than I anticipated. A white bread malt sweetness lays down the foundation. A little sugary fruit cup, think the Dole kind with the single cherry and syrup. It smells good. It's very pineapple juice forward. There's a whisper of minerality but besides that this beer shows no signs of anything funky or acidic. With that said, it smells appetizing and unique, but not much of what's advertised.

The flavor is much the same as the nose. The first thing that jumps to mind is a can of that Dole pineapple juice. It's vibrant with the juicy fruitiness. Again, the fruit cup comes to mind. Peach, pineapple, whatever else is in there and a single cherry. Again, there's a little bready maltiness as a foundation. The flavor is good and unique but it's not as I expected with the labeling.

The body is light and effervescent. The carbonation is lively but soft, barely revealing itself but keeping the body moving at a fairly swift pace. Drinkability is up there with a slowly drying finish and zero sense of alcohol.

Dawn of Aurora is the weakest of the Noble Star Series, easily. With that said, it's still a good beer, it's just not what I expected from the pedigree. It's big and bold with a unique flavor profile and something that is delicious, but not inline with the series as much.

750ml corked and caged bottle poured into a snifter. The brew appears a hazy golden color with a white cap that fades leaving spotty lace.

It smells strangely of cream corn and slight vinous edge. It tastes somewhat fruity and tart with caramel malt almost buttery accent than cherry and sulfur.

This is light bodied and modestly carbonated. This is a bit messy and doesnt work. Not sure if my expectations were set unrealistically high but all the other schell berliners were fantastic and this is a dud.
