medium to light amber color with a thick head of white that sat on top throughout the entire session, nice lacing down the glass.

aroma is light, nice little notes of citrus, hints of apple, pears, light grasses and a smooth, even flavor or light fruity yeast. as i take the first sip i get the clean, crisp flavor right off the bat. really nicely done. clean and light hops, a good strain of yeast and very nice carbonation all lead to a solid pale

I decided to give their Pale Ale a try.

While it's supposedly "steeped in German heritage"--which seems a bit odd for an English style--it can definitely be described as an American pale ale. It has more body than I expected and an East Kent Golding dry finish, which is rather pronounced. While perhaps a little thinner than most locally brewed versions, it's actually not too bad--in fact, it's surprisingly tasty--and fair representation of the style.

I'm curious to try a few more of their efforts.

A fairly pale color with some shades of orange in there. Small head that fades pretty quickly. The smell is interesting. Definitely hops but citrus as well. The citrus is sweeter than I usually get however. Taste is similar to smell. The hops are lighter than other American styles but they are still well balanced in the mix. Not terribly complex but still enjoyable.

Appearance: Mostly brass body with spots of an opaque light orange takes presence in the center. Thick head sits atop and leave beautiful lacing.

Smell: Strong malty base takes shape with small amount of hop smells. A metallic, watery smell is present and not too complimentary.

Taste: A very malty base makes up most of the flavor. Hints of bittering hops comes later and is complimented well with small citrus notes.

Mouthfeel: Covers the mouth well with the strong malty sweetness and finds balance with the crisp finish and very small hop character.

Drinkability: Does a pretty decent job with balance and doesn't have many flavors that are too prevalent.

Pours a clear, copper orange with a full, foamy white head. Head falls slow to a minimal one but stays. Decent lace.

Sweet yet floral hop nose. Bit of yeast. Smells good.

Nice mild hop taste, floral and pleasant. Bit of a sweet malt background. Ends with a full bitter finish.

Medium bodied with decent carbonation.

Very nice, easy drinking APA. I like it.

Reviewed cold from a bottle to a glass

A - Cloudy copper color with 2 fingers of foam, dispersed rather quickly, good lacing ring though, good amount of carbonation

S - Caramel and orange peel, malts and piney hops at the end

T - For sure picked up orange citrus taste, light to medium bodied taste

M/D - Taste a good amount of hops at first but mellowed out and got pretty mild and very easy to drink. A good brew from Schell's that should had. I recommend this brew

Pours a bright macaroni orange with a frothy bone-white head. scraps of lace cling along the glass during the ride.

Smells crisp and refreshing. Hops jump out immediately, but don't overload the tastebuds. Citrus backs up the hops, and some sweet butter-cookie pale malt provides the foundation.

This is certainly less hoppy than many APA's I've tried recently, and that's the only knock against Schell's Pale Ale.

Overall a very drinkable beer, but I think I'll stick to Summit if I want a good, local Pale Ale.

Schell Pale Ale was an amber color with a half-inch, off-white head that faded to a collar.

The aroma was mostly sweet malt.

The taste was skewed toward the malty sweet side and buttery. The hops are only a slight factor, but this may be due to being past it's best by date. Still tasted pretty good, but I would like to try some fresh.

The mouth feel was light to medium bodied, oily and ample carbonation.

Drinkability was just fine; low ABV, good flavor and reasonable price.

Pours a clear, golden color. 2/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of sweet malt, hops, slight earthy malt, and slight yeast. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, yeast, hops, slight earthy malt, and slight dark citrus. Overall, a great blend, good body, and good aroma.

Thanks to morimech!
Freshness date of 041710 stamped on the neck:

Pours a light copperish amber with a very thin white head that doesn't last very long. Vanishing dotted lacing slides down the glass.

The smell is bready with a spicy hop aroma - East Kent Golding, according to the label. Slightly tart citric fruitiness with some peppery spicing.

The taste is bready with sourdough and light tart-ish citrus. A sweet malt backbone balances it until hop bitterness comes through in the finish.

Light-to-medium-bodied. Flavor holds on for a decent amount of time.

An APA with an English hop touch - not bad at all. Very drinkable - pretty hoppy with malt backbone showing through to balance it... A nice, interesting pale ale from a brewery that is more known for their German-style brews!

A-Basically a heavy golden transparent body with a ring-a-round the outter glass white-ish head.
S-Slightly caramel and toasted notes detected with a faint hop presence.
T-Sweet and pleasant on the uptake with lasting hopped finish.
M-Thicker/ higher gravity on the intake with a tingled dry lasting aftertaste.
D-This beer is drinkable, but not for me because it's overly average.
