Served in a nonic pint glass

A: dark brown with hints of red and a thing cream colored head

S: Smell is lots of chocolate and roasted malt, with caramelized notes lying just under the surface.

T: Roasted dark chocolate bitterness with a gentle malt backbone in what is an otherwise subdued but pleasant pallet.

M: Wow, this beer has one of the best mouthfeels I have experienced. Creamy and very smooth with only a mild cask conditioned carbonation.

D: Very smooth and very drinkable.

Well rounded roast aroma with a touch of nuttiness.

Deep, dark burnished mahogany colour with a decent light tan head.

Good toast flavours with notes of chocolate and roast. Well rounded and not over the top.

Medium-full body with low carbonation. Good.

A decent porter. I like the balanced, restrained character and it is a decent English Porter.

This porter was spot on color wise. A very deep Ruby color that maintained translucence. An off-white, but not quite tan head died quickly. This beer had the lowest carbonation of my samplings at the Ale House. Classic roasty porter flavors are evident. A slightly caramel burnt flavor, toffee, and more of a black malt character than chocolate. A surprisingly light mouth feel for a bold tasting beer. There was a faint soapiness from the yeast that was evident in their Bellringers Bitter making me wonder if there was a single "house" yeast strain at work here. About half-way through, a vanilla and diacytl flavor becomes noticeable.
Overall a good, hand pulled porter with a surprisingly low nose.

Served on cask at Galbraith's! This poured a dark brownish black with no head. It smelled of coffee, vanilla, sweet malts and a touch of caramel. It tasted of light roasted coffee, light vanilla and toasted malts. It was very drinkable and one of my friend's favorite of the evening.
