Notes: Weighing in at 9.3%, Boss Tweed is a double New England IPA with an aroma of peach, mango, tangerine. A nice pilsner malt backbone with a touch of Vienna provides balance and a lingering sweetness on the back end.

You know that point in the cartoon where the guy sees the girl and his eyes turn into hearts and his mouth hits the floor? Forget Ana de Paula, forget Barbara Palvin, and forget Sarah Sampaio; at the moment, this is the only thing Raul adores. I mean, can I? Can I even describe this hazed out beauty? The thang glows a gentle tropical haze like Paul McCartney’s brainwaves during his first acid trip. Aroma should be damn near illegal. I popped the can and it exploded like a tropical grenade. Boom! Taste is more radical than Lennon leading a revolution. I mean, this thing blows up with hops and equator fruits like Magellan getting lost in The Bermuda Triangle.

I am at a loss, I am found, and I am reborn again. Boss Tweed, you bad boy, don’t ever leave me.

4.5 across the board. A really nice representation. Pours a murky deep orange with a slight off white head. Nose is fruity. Aromas of tropical fruits and stone fruit. Taste is a beautiful thing. Sweet pineapple, lemon zest, ripe melon and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Enough doughy malt to break up the fruitiness. Medium to full body slightly thick and creamy mouthfeel. Hoppy non bitter finish. I dig it!

Old Nation's best work yet. This NE DIPA has all the qualities you would expect from Trillium, Bissell, Other Half, etc; citrus punch, pillowy mouthfeel and a pleasant hop bitterness on the backend.

I thought I was in love with their M43 but this just changed all that.

Rating #1500, and what a beer to do it with! From the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Pours a murky dark orange with a thick cap of foam.

Smell is slightly more muted than I expected. Still presents huge dollops of mango puree, citrus and orange sorbet.

Taste explodes on your tongue with all sorts of tropical juiciness. Mango, orange and a slight tartness leads into a massive, but perfectly balanced bitterness and hop bite. Just about perfect, and there is NO hint of the 9.3 %. A benchmark for a NE DIPA.

Mouthfeel is medium to full, soft and pillowy with nice carbonation.

Overall, this is just world class, and easily top 3 of all NE IPAs I've had. Superb.

Appearance - Pours completely opaque turbid yellow color with a huge soapy white head that leaves lost of sticky lacing all around the glass.

Aroma - Tons of candied tropical fruit mango, pineapple, passionfruit. There is a very light pine earthy aroma along with a nice bitter grapefruit presence.

Taste - Great balance of juicy ripe tropical fruit and fresh hops and pine. The juice comes up front and the dry bitter finish transitions so smoothly.

Feel - Full bodied creamy smooth it's is like drinking juice. great dry bitter finish.

Overall - Just a great example of a NEIPA, juicy but not overly sweet great balance and no sign of the high ABV.

Opaque honey-orange with a dense, uniform white foam.

Boy oh boy this one smells tooty fruity with tons of bright and citric orange and lemon, and even cherry, with some pine, weed, and mint.

Taste is sweet and syrupy, with orange and cherry coming out prominently. Honestly, it's damn near coming across as a fruit beer, and it's definitely throwing me off.

Feel is a little watery but still crisp.

Pours a murky citrus punch color with a half finger white head that is gone in a flash,a somewhat menacing look.Tropical fruits and fresh cut grass jump out in the nose,a little sweet onion is there as well,no sharpness or much of a malty presence.Juicy and sweet like candy on the palate, grilled pineapple and mango with a bit of grapefruit rind presence in the back end.A think low carbonated feel makes it go down easy as well.Worthy of it's rating not a run of the mill NE style IPA.

The aroma filled the room as soon as i popped the top, huge aroma, a hop heads dream! Pours a hazy orange with a thick creamy head that coats the glass nicely. Taste of tropical fruits, mango pineappale, tangerines, a nice bit of bitterness on the back end to set it apart from the smooth NEIPAs, this is an outstanding brew worth seeking out.

Thanks to superspak for this Michigan beauty.
Pours a hazy, can we say muddy, orange to apricot color. Frothy white head leaps up, slowly retreats, and leaves moderate lacing.
Smell is an abundant cascade of tropical and citrus. Juicy mango, pineapple, and some sweet tangerine start off. Juicy!
Flavor is much of the same. Begins very juicy, but then it moves into a drier, earthy bitterness. Really moves smoothly from one component to another. Eventually there's a warm onion note on the finish.
Mouthfeel is fluffy, active, and really carries it all so well.
Beauty of a beer.

Old Nation is going to brighten up this part one way or another. If it's not the radiant, succulent and refreshing taste, then its certainly the imperial alcohol strength that with brighten the mood. But make no mistake about it- Their Boss Tweed is the star of this show.

The imperial IPA pours just like melted orange sherbet, even clinging to the glass with the glossy, iridescent orange sparkle left as legging-like trails in its wake. A creamy meringue ensures that those dessert-like impressions keep coming. Its succulent perfume overcomes the senses with strong orange juice, grapefruit juice, pineapple juice aromatics with a cast of nuanced citrus, tropical and herbal complements. Sweet with a maltiness that's suggestive of creamsicle and spongecake, hints of honey, light caramel and simple syrups beckon.

As the hop flavors unfold on the middle palate, its breadth of hops are realized. The succulence of branch ripe citrus lay heavy tracks of pink grapefruit, tangerine, lemon and lime. Blended with the tantalizing tang of tropical fruit and then the pineapple, mango, passionfruit and kiwi flavors take on hawaiian punch proportions. Smooth but medium intense with bitterness, the final frame is of freshly chopped chive, hemp, juniper, gooseberry, sassafras and peppery alcohol.

Medium full in body, the beer doesn't try to be a dry IPA, instead, its exotic fruit and herbal flavors linger weightily on the finish and rewards the late palate with a rich hop flavor with little bite, leading to a smooth bitterness that's cakey and absurdly fruit forward.

Can dated 12/28/18 poured into a pint glass. Nice looking beer. A hazy yellow-acorn color with a thick white head. Impressive aroma right from the can on the pour: lots of tropical fruit, but complex with berries, some pine, and earthy notes. The taste did not disappoint. Again, tropical flavors with guava and pineapple, but accompanied by dank resin and piney elements. Extremely soft feel, almost like the beer was lifted from my palate. Outstanding and it lived up to the hype.
