Weighing in at 9.3%, Boss Tweed is a double New England IPA with an aroma of peach, mango, tangerine. A nice pilsner malt backbone with a touch of Vienna provides balance and a lingering sweetness on the back end.

Pours a clear yellow color with a large white head. Has a tropical fruit smell going on. Definitely doesn’t taste like it smells. Absolutely no tropical taste. More of just hop and yeast.

pours a hazy, yellow-gold. Nice upfront hoppiness, a little mid-palate fruit and mild sweetness, with a smooth dank finish that feels clean. This is far better than most hazy's

L= Hazy bright yellow body topped with a classic white 2.5 inch head. The head is airy, and recedes substantially in five minutes, leaving a thin but solid coating that replenishes moderate lacing.
S= Grapefruit, pineapple, hops, and a salty-sweet presence reminiscent of ocean beach air...supple and savory!
T= Grapefruit, salt, cane sugar, hops, lemon all blend into a most attractive IPA fragrance. The sweetness is more robust, rounding out the flavor and removing the jarring edge found in lesser IPAs'. A bit sour on the back end.
F= Perfectly balanced, neither sticky nor watery. Washes over the tongue, goes down smooth and refreshing.
O= I have found my new favorite IPA! Massive 19.32 oz can, with a big 9.3 ABV. Perfect antidote to reality.

Old Nation Boss Tweed poured a hazy yellow/gold with a 2-finger foamy off-white head. Limited lacing was formed. The smell was dominated by citrus, especially grapefruit. Also, lemon and grass noted. The taste matched the nose with the addition of orange. Boss Tweed had a light sweet flavor at the back of the palate that I enjoyed. Mouth feel is high-medium with a dry clean finish.
Overall, I enjoyed this flavorful double IPA. I am not a “hophead” so I was pleasantly surprised.

Bought a 4 pack of tall boys while in MI because I’ve liked their ipas in the past, but wasn’t too crazy about the first one I tried, so I traded two away. This is the second/last, poured into La fin du Monde tulip, and it looks nice, a dull dense tangerine, with a respectable pill-white head and good retention. Nose wafts up to me from a distance, huge amounts of dripping juicy ripe orange, tangerine and a little mango. Closer I get, the more it is just like juicy purée. I don’t get much in the way of complexity or layers. Taste: it’s very juicy in a tropical-citrus way, maybe a little creamsicle. Again, it’s solid and tasty, but just a little one-note. The first time I tried one of these, I thought it was too big and hot and didn’t hide the abv well enough, but this time it doesn’t strike me that way. Did the extra ten days change things? Mouthful is a little watery, without much liveliness, but it isn't soft either. My tongue is coated with hop oils, so that's something. All in all: its big and it's hoppy. Solid, but probably not one I'll go out of my way to find.

I just do not like this beer. It is a NE IPA so it already has a strike against it and it does not smell or taste "nice". Overripe citrus, sour dankness, and some cattiness. Overall it does not leave a good impression on me.

L - Clear golden with a minimal white head that dissipates quickly leaving behind minimal lacing
S - Tropical fruit notes - pineapple, mango, citrus, resinous hops
T - follows the nose - tropical fruit notes - pineapple, mango, citrus - intermixed well with resinous piney hops along with notes of caramel and biscuit
F - medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Sticky, but refreshing - could use a little more wheat to possibly thicken up the brew to NEIPA levels
O - a pretty solid DIPA, but without the thick mouthfeel from their standard M-43, I feel like this is slightly lacking in the feel category. Still a great brew overall

Canned 1/26/23 (2 months ago)
Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (10% clarity) medium orange color with a massive white head. SRM of 8. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of orange, grapefruit, orange flower with some floral pineapple and mango underneath. (4.00)
Flavor: Strong and juicy flavors of orange, pungent grapefruit citrus, grapefruit juice, with a strong floral component. But ultimately finishes with sweet orange and grapefruit. (4.00)
Feel: Heavier bodied, strong carbonation sweet but actually somewhat dry and clean too. (4.50)
Compared to Toppling Goliath Seismic Sue 4/2023: Pours darker, stronger head. Milder aromas. More orange and grapefruit citrus and floral notes. Less
Overall: Usually not a fan of imperial IPAs past 8.5%, but some good ratings here so decided to give it a try. Did not disappoint. Great flavors of grapefruit, orange, and floral notes. Sweet, but far dryer and cleaner than expected. The flavors hold up here and doesn't get too sweet. This is really good and an exception to the rule. (Rating: 4.10)
