Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on July 26, 2019. This has the perfect amount of strawberries in it. The berries had depth to the flavor without overwhelming the base beer. Highly recommended.

Pours a very cloudy pale orange with a light fluffy head. Smell is tart strawberry on the forefront surrounded by a light juicy hop background. Taste is tart strawberry, not as strong as the smell, hoppy and juicy background. Balanced, tasty. Light body, mouth watering, minimal alcohol presence. Interesting. Started off not enjoying it but it got better as I drank it. Pleasantly surprised.

This is a perfect beer. Look is like m43 (maybe slightly less hazy tho), smells of tart strawberry. The taste is complex. Strawberry upfront...all the hop flavors of m43 are there, but muted.
Full mouthfeel. Less trub in the can than m43. As far as fruited ipa goes, this is a masterpiece. Strawberry can be difficult to work with in beer, but they've figured it out. The 2nd beer I've ever given a perfect score to. The strawberry flavor seems fresh. Not chemical. At 1 month old this beer tastes same as it did at 1 week old. Surprising stability.

This was my first M-43 variant and was afraid this beer was going to be over done. Instead it was done perfectly. The tart strawberry taste balanced really well with the hops and made this beer perfect for a nice summer night.

Look - great hazy copper color with a slight head and skimming
Smell - slight grapefruit strawberry
Taste - definitely tart strawberry right off the bat. Also has that citrus juicy sweetness. More I think about it the more it taste like a tequila sunrise.
Feel - medium body and a slight fizzy slight creaminess
Overall - interesting but I like the original better

1 PINT can
Served in a stemless wine glass

This beer pours baby poop yellow and is topped with a couple inches of tan head that leaves some decent lacing.

The initial smell is strawberry milkshake. The fresh strawberry smell is amazing. Some tropical fruit comes through as it begins to warm.

Strawberry looms large in the flavor with a tart finish. Tropical fruit tries to break through but is overwhelmed by the strawberry.

Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel

This is a damn good strawberry beer. I have been wanting to try it for awhile, and it did not disappoint.

Very unique and delicious. The addition of tart strawberries hits the mark. It delivers in the aroma and taste perfectly. Nothing artificial about it and well executed. Love that lingering tart strawberry aftertaste. Highly recommended and stoked that I have 3 more cans left.

A: Opaque, pale yellow, pineapple juice
S: Sweet natural strawberry, orange, peach, mango, very tropical
T: Strawberry, peach, very light bitterness, mango, light tangerine, balanced sweetness
M: Light, smooth, creamy. Complimentary to the flavor
O: Extremely well executed where the base beer is still there and the strawberry comes across natural

I don't know how I'm going to fill 150 characters, but here's the deal: it's M-43. With a tart strawberry flavor. Do you enjoy M-43? Like strawberries at least a little? You'll like this one. Is it worth some of the craziness and lines surrounding it? Nope. Is it good? Yup.

NEIPA pour: very hazy pale yellow with a small head.

Smells surprisingly great. Mildly tart, but mostly soft and delicate strawberries along with some contemporary fruit hops. The combination is quite nice.

Tastes like it smells: immensely smooth strawberry juice throughout, which does a fantastic job of dulling the sharp tartness of the yeast and serves as a nice counterbalance to the higher alpha sweetness of the hops. It's not the same thing as a malt balance, but unlike most brewers making NEIPAs they are at least trying for balance. And they succeed really well.

Appearance - pours turbid murky orange with a huge white head excellent retention. Spotty lacing.

Aroma - The strawberry is really mind but noticeable. Light vanilla, hops come through well citra and simcoe. Like a hoppy strawberry shake.

Taste - Man the tart strawberry works super with the hop balance. Nice vanilla balances the hops some but not much still sharp. the simcoe comes out well for me, nice creamy bitter combination.

Feel - nice creamy feel, slightly bitter pretty dry finish.

Overall - Really nice job balancing the strawberry and not overpowering the hops.

Can dated 4/17/19 poured into Stella Artois chalice.

Man, if this doesn't look like a hop milkshake I don't know what does. Very juicy milky amber with a creamy cap of 2 fingers leaving sparse lacing.

Aroma... is so mouth-watering. It's exactly like what you'd expect M-43 and squeezed strawberries to smell like. Orange juice and strawberry juice concentrate. Sweet lactose/milkshake. Yum.

Taste : The tart strawberries take over more than I expected. It's super genuine and impressive, but the M-43 flavor profile just keeps getting waterboarded in the toilet by the big bad strawberry bully. Tart strawberries and strawberry tops, grapefruit, slight OJ, hop dust, and more tart strawberry.

Feel is creamy and smooth, has a wonderful juiciness we all know and love, and finishes with juicy acidity and resins.

Overall, it's very good, but very different. I much prefer the original M-43, probably twice as much. It'll be interesting to see how this morphs over the next coming weeks.

Nose on this is amazing!
Flavor profile is insane.
Slight tart sourness. Followed by mellow strawberry flavors that open up to a juicy hop blast. Mild carbonation. Medium mouthfeel. With a slight dryness.

Fresh tapped at the brewery. Typical haze associated with M43. Subtle strawberry aroma but you can definitely taste strawberries with each sip. Strawberry fades but the M43 flavor remains.

Canned recently but date is smudged.

Super hazy gold yellow, inconsistent but white bubbly head that recedes to the edges with some spots across surface. Smell exploded out of the can and seriously filled my side of the room with strawberry jolly rancher and citrus. Taste is like a slightly tart strawberry milkshake with a citrusy and slight piney character. Super tasty and enjoyable. Mouthfeel is a bit prickly, medium to thin viscosity, not as smooth and pillowy as I expected but the carbonation and viscosity helps its drinkability. I'm so happy to have tried this brew. I look forward to trying the regular M43.

16oz can from LambicPentameter (thank you!). Canned 4/17/18. Served in an oversized Bruery snifter. Enjoyed 5/24/18.

Pours a completely opaque, dull pale yellow with just about two fingers of fluffy white head. The bubbles fade, leaving a few small islands and thin band but no lace.

Smells juicy and fruity. Tons of strawberry up front, followed by orange, melon and a little bit of cake.

Interesting flavor. As in the nose the strawberry is clearly defined. Orange juice, vague melon, a little mild tea, honeysuckle and some cakey malt.

Soft, medium feel with gentle carbonation. The lingering finish has a lot more strawberry as well as orange melon pound cake.

The crew at Old Nation certainly know how to whip up a delicious IPA. This is a fun play on M43. I don’t think I can call it tart but there is a while lotof strawberry at play here. A tasty hop treat for sure that I’m quite happy to have tried but honestly I prefer the base.

16oz can 4/17/18

Exploded out of the can! Hazy, cloudy gold color. Very tart nose and a taste that followed very closely. It was almost like a strawberry rhubarb IPA. A hoppy and slightly tart strawberry milkshake. Not as soft of a feel as I prefer, but still good. This was a limited run and hard to get, but I prefer the regular M-43 over this by a lot.

Poured a super hazy orange with a finger of white head.
Smells of tart strawberry and citrus.
Taste follows, tart strawberry, orange, pineapple.
Medium bodied with good carb level, very smooth.
Overall one of the better fruited IPAs that I've had.

Poured into a snifter. Looks like the regular M-43, with maybe a slight pink tint, but not much. Modest white head. Aroma right out of the can - tart strawberries, vanilla, Some bready malt. The taste was bright fruit. The strawberries were not overwhelming and mixed well with bitter citrus flavors and some tropical notes. Soft, creamy feel with prickly carbonation. Outstanding beer.

Poured from a 16oz can into a willi pint glass.

Pours a super hazy dullish orange body with a two finger white head that reduces to a layer of foam and spotty lacing.

Aromas are pretty strawberry forward with a bit of citrus and light zesty peppery hops.

Taste is heavy strawberry, lightly tart and a tad sweet, tropical with mango and citrus on the follow through. Aftertaste is strawberry juice with very little bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and easy drinking, low carb.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/17/2018. Pours opaquely hazy golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, strawberry, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness; and fruit tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy strawberries, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, strawberry, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitterness and fruit tartness balance; with zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and fruit tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/acidic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is an amazing flavored NE IPA. All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, strawberry, and moderate bready malt flavors; extremely smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter/drying finish. Amazingly soft spot on mouthfeel for the style. Extremely juicy/lightly dank hops with awesome balance of strawberry flavorings. Perfect malt balance and not overly sweet/heavy for the style. Can't say I prefer it over the base beer. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example as expected.

A - Pours a murky golden orange with a one finger creamy white head. The head dissapates quickly leaving some light soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is tart and strawberries, pineapple and orange.

T - The taste is sweet and tart, orange, pineapple and light resinous hops.

M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a crisp dry finish.

O - A nice M-43 variant. The strawberry is definetly the star of the show. Not as great as the original but a worth addition to the Old Nation lineup.

I'm not a huge fan of NE style or m43. However, this variant is just pure bliss. The best breakfast beer I've had to this point. The smell and flavor of strawberry and citrus is just unbeatable. I'm not even going to bother with a proper review. If you see this, try it. You won't be disappointed.

This one is getting a downgrade after this year's release. The tart is much more prominent, almost to the point of being overwhelming. Last year was subtle 4.75 on that one, it was one of my favorite beers.

More is not always better.
