I purchased this from Heritage liquore in St. Paul MN

Pours a hazy orange/ amber with a two finger white head. This is a bit darker for an ale. Almost like a double ipa.

Good amount of bitter citruss hops present on the nose. Some sweet bready caramel present as well.
Taste is very crisp and dry. Not much of any sweatness in the taste. This is a light bodied ale with medium to moderate carbonation.
I would drink this again, as its a great craft style epa. This has been done before and originality is not present, but its a damn fine beer. I'd take this over alot of other epa's any day.

the mind is a funny thing. ever since i have started drinking beer i always knew i never liked the taste of ESB's whether it be boddingtons or some new supposedly great bitter. i always steered clear, and they always made me feel sick after drinking just one. this one changed my mind solely based on the fact i did not know it was a bitter until i was halfway through drinking it and came on here to review it.

received bottle as an extra from sophisticated, thanks for changing my opinion on ESB's... for now.

a- dirty blonde, not quite a brunette. tiny off white head, great carbonation and pretty decent lacing.

s- malty, grainy, hoppy, caramel undertones, peanuts and maybe onions, haha.

t&m- very silky and smooth. baked bread, caramel and mashed potatoes dominate the palate for me. a muted bitter finish, nothing over the top. simple and not very complex, makes for easy drinking.

d- very easy to session this one, this is the only nice thing i have ever had to say about ESB's ever. this one is a treat for sure.

12 oz bottle. Date stamped on label. Review from notes.

Pours a slightly hazy dark gold, small off-white head that dissipates quickly. Smell is malty, with a perfumy sweetness. First taste is a bit dry, on a butternut end. Kinda smooth, kinda toasty, like a white wine. Good. Possibly a bit flat as far as the finish goes. A litter bitter on the end, but drinks good. I want to re-try this one.

A good looking ale of clear amber/copper that has a huge white head. The head lingers well and creates generous lacing. Nose of malt, bread, and grain. Sweet starting flavor from the malt with a bit of hops to add great balance. This is a nicely crafted ale that is just a bit light on body, but is very drinkable. Worth a pint or two.

Sawtooth pours a deep golden amber with a creamy head of suds that leaves some nice lacing as it falls.

The aroma is quite pleasant, smooth bready malts with the tang of grassy hops.

The flavor has a somewhat caramel bready malt with a hint of butter with grassy earthy hops which builds to a nice bitterness on the finish. A few moments in the glass improves flavors as it begins warming.

Mouthfeel is medium with a bit of creaminess that develops as it warms.

Overall a pleasant drinking ale, nice bitterness and mellow malt. I'd like to try it on tap!
