Clear copper pour with a small head that fades quickly. Aroma has a light ginger note to it. Flavor is really nice. Ginger comes out strong on top of a good malt and light grass base. Light body also has a hint of floral hops. Finish has a lingering ginger spicy flavor.

Deep amber in the glass, with some brown and reddish highlights. Faint white head with decent lacing, light carbonation. Aroma of candied ginger, caramelized brown sugar, hint of molasses.
Doesn't taste quite like I had expected: figured that an imperial pale ale would be a bit drier on the palate, taste more intensely of hops. This is almost like eating a hopped ginger snap cookie, sweet and malty, moderately bitter finish. Great job getting the ginger flavor to sneak through. Sort of an odd beer, my drinking partner suggested this was almost a dessert beer, and I'd tend to agree. Hard to imagine drinking an entire bomber by myself.
Overall, a tasty ginger beer, but with less carbonation and a little sweeter than I'd hoped. Would have made a really neat brown ale, but seems like a strange experience for a pale ale (for starters, it's not even really pale at all). I'd like to rate it higher, but as the style goes it's out of place. Though if you're a ginger fan, definitely worth trying, one of the nicer gingery beers I've had to date.

Appearance: A nice looking pour, with the clear amber liquid capped by three fingers of foam; plenty of lacing strips down the side of the glass
Smell: Powerful tones of crystallized and powdered ginger; caramel and bready tones underneath; other spices such as cinnamon and cardamom also are detected
Taste: Bread and caramel, up front, with the ginger flavors building through the middle, with cardamom and cinnamon; after the swallow, the ginger turns peppery in the throat and burns as it descends the gullet
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; the burn is palpable
Overall: I was hoping I would like this better than Good Juju (which I found lacking) but I am afraid the excesses of this beer don't quite do it for me

"Good Juju's Voodoo goes imperial with a spicy ginger aroma and a miscnievously balanced potion of sweet heat and caramel candy. Once beguiled by the master, this amber will take you to places where good Juju can't follow and you may just find yourself wanting to linger." Brewed in the style of an American Pale Ale with Ginger added. Available in 22 oz. bottles and on rotating draft.
Poured from a 22 oz. bottle to a tulip glass.
(Appearance) Pours a crisp, frothy head of a pastel-hued color over a medium hazy caramel-amber body with light carbonation. Retention is average and lacing is light and patchy. 3.25
(Smell) Sharp, spicy crystallized ginger root, light caramel and pale malt body with a mild sweetness. Very bold ginger aroma, simple but pleasant especially if you like ginger. Potency is moderate. 3.75
(Taste) Pale and caramel bread malts with a mildly spicy and effervescent unsweetened ginger finish. The ginger acts as a nice compliment, is very evident in the flavor and tones down much of the sharp and raw edge of ginger as an ingredient. Finishes lightly dry and earthy bitter. 3.75
(Mouthfeel) Texture is slick, residual and moderately dry. Carbonation is mild for the style, generating a mild frothiness and a mildly crisp finish. Body is medium for the style, medium+ overall. Balance is slightly sweet over earthy bitter and spicy. Alcohol presence is mild and there are no off characters. 3.5
(Overall) There isn't much else to pick out of this beer aside from the ginger, so much of my review is based around how well the ginger is integrated. The use of ginger in this beer seems to border between ginger candy and raw ginger root, without the sharpness of ginger root or the sweetness of the ginger candy. Much of the gruffness of the raw ginger root flavor come through most brazenly following the finish, when I find it is most appropriate. I expect divided reviews based on a beer that dominates ginger like Great Juju does, but for anybody willing to go out of their way for a ginger beer, you shouldn't be too surprised with what you get here. 3.5
