Nostalgia dictates me to consider this one of my favorite beers as it was one of the first true craft beers I tried shortly after my 21st birthday. But although much time has passed since I last had one it still gives me great satisfaction to be drinking one now.
For starters, it is an exceptional example of the style. It boasts a very pleasant bread and butter taste, as well as incorporating a smooth lemon after taste with a small lingering hop bite. While the flavors are profound, they are still light enough to impart an excellent drinkability, a must for the style.
Left Hand pale ale is also unique in the sense that I feel the beer taste much better strait from bottle, rather then poured into a pint glass. For me, the bottle experience condenses the right flavors while reducing any flaws I found with it when I poured it into a glass.
Highly recommended!

Pours a clear copper with a modest cream head that lingers as a thin layer of foam.
Toasted malt, tea-like herbal and floral hops, and a touch of caramel form the aroma.
Flavor is fairly sweet and caramelly. The finish is grassy, lightly resiny and bitter, with a slight citrus character.
Body and carbonation are moderate.
Well balanced apa. I like the hint of citrus, but wish it were more prevalent.
