Best by 7/13/16.

Appearance: Black body with a two-finger head of tan cream. Nitro is a thing of beauty.

Aroma: Lots of coffee and some chocolate malt poking through. Surprisingly aromatic for a nitro beer.

Taste: The smoothest porter I've had in a while. All the charred coffee flavor I've come to expect from a porter is transformed by the smooth creaminess of this beer. The flavor itself is straight forward caramel/toffee and dark malt with a hint of coffee. 6% ABV is spot on for the depth of flavor here. Nice burst of toasty flavor in finish with coffee and cream in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Just above medium in body. Right on the borderline of good drinkability.

Final Thoughts: Nice all around coffee porter that I'm sure wouldn't be half as memorable if it was dispensed with CO2. Would I drink it again? Yes.

My new favorite coffee beer. Had it on draft at McLadden's in West Hartford last week and was blown away by the head and the rich Italian-roast-like smooth coffee flavor. I bought a 6-pack yesterday and tried from the bottle, thinking it could not possibly equal last weekend's draft. Amazing, just as good. Poured vigorously into a tulip glass and thought the head was not going to form as it poured. On completion, like magic, beautiful thick super creamy head.
Mouth feel is almost like drinking a cappuccino with carbonation and alcohol. I need to add that I am a picky coffee drinker, and only like the dark-roast coffees with just cream added. I dislike sweet coffee flavor or mild roasts. This beer was a great find for my tastes.
I always try new Left Hand products. Very thankful they are not distributed in CT. My wife and I visited their tap room 18 months ago on a beercation and loved the place. Very modest, very friendly and certainly the king of porters, stouts and the use of nitro.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours midnight black with a lot of bubbles. Big creamy tan head that settles into a thinner layer.

Smell: A roasty and creamy dark malt driven aroma with a scent of coffee, chocolate, and toffee. Dark roasted barley malt with a scent of coffee beans, chocolate, toffee, caramel, toast, smoke, and biscuit with some yeast. Sweet hints of vanilla and brown sugar. Subtle hints of berry and earthy hops. A very solid aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a roasty and creamy dark malt driven taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, and toffee. Dark roasted barley malt with notes of coffee beans, chocolate, toffee, caramel, burnt toast, smoke, and biscuit with yeast. Sweet taste of brown sugar and creamy vanilla. Slight fruit note of berries. Subtle earthy hop bitterness. A pretty good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and very creamy. Silky smooth.

Overall: A pretty good Nitro take on a Coffee Porter. Good roasty malt notes with a very creamy body.

Basically Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout w/ coffee. If you like the former, you'll probably like this. If you find the former a bit watery and/or weak, this probably won't change your mind. It's a tasty enough beer, but it just does nothing to change my opinion of nitro beer -- namely that 90+% of the time, regular CO2 would be better.

L: Dark brown in color, cannot see through even when held up to the light. Two finger fluffy caramel head that lasts.
S: Light, not much profile, enjoyable, creamy smell that reminds me of the Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout.
T: I couldn't find it at first, however, after a few sips I could both taste and feel the acidic sometimes bitter flavors of the coffee. This brew has a very nice roast aftertaste that compliments the flavor of the beer. This is an extremely enjoyable flavor.
F: Both head and body are extremely smooth. The head is very light and fluffy while the body is thin which fits the taste and look of the beer well.
O: If you like coffee, this brew is for you. If you aren't crazy about coffee, then you probably won't enjoy this beer, especially since the coffee flavors and smells get stronger the more you drink it. This beer is not sweet, but it is bitter from the coffee.

Looks like a nighttime drive through the countryside - pitch black. Amber at the edges keeps it multi-dimensional. Dense persistent head the color of cappuccino foam. The smell is subtle and roasty. The taste of coffee takes the wheel, with hints of chocolate (which gets much stronger as the beer warms) and cream in the lingering notes that I can only describe as exquisite. The feel is silky smooth, and there's just enough carbonation to give a cheerful first impression while not being overpowering. I’ll probably gain 50 pounds drinking this elixir and i’m going to enjoy every pound of the journey. Our nighttime drive is taking this porter to Canton.

Pours a deep, opaque brown with a luscious and dense tan head.
The aroma is chocolate and roast coffee with vanilla and a hint of fruit.
Taste is dark chocolate and smooth roasted coffee with a big, bitter finish. The tongue is coated with roasted flavors and a touch of sweetness.
Moutfeel is creamy and smooth.
Outstanding.

12 oz bottle (BB date stamp: 6 July 2016) poured hard into a snifter. The result was a near black, dark brown body with 1 cm of creamy tan head. Excellent lacing.

Nose: coffee, chocolate, toffee and plenty of dark roasted grains.

Flavor: mild up front with more chocolate than expected. Coffee strengthens in the finish and aftertaste where light smokiness emerges. Mildly bitter balance. No complaints about the quality but a little stronger (flavor) might be better.

Feel: medium, soft carbonation. Near medium body. Smooth; would be creamy if fuller.

Jet black. Huge nitro light tan head.

Coffee and roast on the nose, light red grapes, banana, nuts, toast, toffee, caramel.

Flavor follows, plus chocolate up front. Building roast and bitterness.
