Definitely not a beer for me. The mouthfeel and taste were that of wet, moldy grass. Ginger is barely present over the over powering disturbing and bad herbal taste.

I couldn't even finish the beer. Highly recommend you avoid this one, which is disappointing given the normally excellent Left Hand selections.

Pretty good size white head that leaves traces of evidence on the way down, light golden to pale yellow, lots of carbonation.

Smell is fruity, definately ginger in there although its not as dominant as the name would imply. Reminds me of my favorite sushi bar as they recomend having a bite of ginger when changing orders. I usually do that and it cleans up the palate nicely, just like this beer does. The problem with this beer is simple, Ginger, tropical fruits, musky aroma and it all shakes out rather awkwardly. I really enjoyed the ginger beer from Bar harbor so the style could work. This one falls short in my opinion.

I couldn't see drinking more than this one single I snagged at the wine house. Aftertaste lingers.

There's nothing I won't try and very few beers that I've ever disliked. I think this beer is misunderstood.

First, the color is wonderful. It's a deep golden color. Good.
The smell on the other hand; It reminds me of a nice sushi platter. That's probably my bias.

How to best enjoy 'Good Juju':

Step 1. Throw it in the trash

let me be clear before starting this was bad...

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tall clear pint glass.

A: Clear almost see through golden yellow with a white head that is almost not there at all...

S: I got no ginger out of it...

T: I thankfully now I know what as$ taste like. This was bad. In all fairness I can't tell you what the after taste was like because I spit it out...

D:I couldn't finsh the first drink so i can't figure out how someone is suppose to drink a whole bottle of it...

Serving type: bottle

Sorry for the neg post but it was that bad for me...not my standard review.

All over the board on this one, I like the appearance. Nice head that actually retains well on top of a yellow unattractive beer. Aroma is not real present as it has a sweet ginger nose. Taste is lost, Ginger comes through, but I don't like the profile of spices with the ginger. Mouthfeel is creamy and chewy, pretty good considering the appearance of this beer, I probably won't be buying this one again as it came in a mixed pack and I used the second one for cooking (better for that).

I love anything with ginger but could not detect any ginger flavor. Metallic smell that affected the flavor. I'm fairly forgiving but this is a real disappointment. In order to get to my character minimum will add that it is a beautiful evening along the front range in Colorado.

Ah, if this beer only tasted like it looked and smelled. You'd be like, hey, here's a normal looking beer, something weird to the aroma, like vanilla and ginger.

Taste, uh, you know, I don't like ginger with my sushi, and I guess its something psychosomatic, but the beer tastes like fish and rice. Mouthfeel of that, and drinkability, must suffer, like a Cubs fan.

Pours dark yellow like a standard lager. Aroma is ginger and grain. Everything seems ok so far.

Ultimately, ginger dominates the flavor profile so hard that you end up questioning whether this is truly a beer. Its so spice rack/herbal that things like malt and hops are just afterthoughts. I literally couldn't drink this, which puts it in a very unique category.

Look I don't like ginger, maybe you do, but if you don't, then you won't like this, it brings the ginger and it brings it so hard that its pretty much all I can taste.

Your really have to enjoy ginger to like this beer. It is upfront and in your face, i am not a fan. Other than the ginger, there really isn't much else going on.

Pours a two finger, white head that quickly fades leaving no lace. Cloudy amber color. Very light carbonation and light bodied. Nose has some hops and maybe a hint of ginger. Starts with hints of ginger but more hops and malt than ginger, boring, clean finish. $2.75 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

appearance: Clear light amber ale topped by a frothy head of wispy white bubbles. That head just screams adjunct, even if there aren't any. some lacing effects saves it a bit. No carbonation or liveliness to the brew.

smell: Faintest whiff of ginger, otherwise...nothing. I'm serious, there's nothing there.

taste: Kiss of ginger, the rest is watered down to the point of unrecognizability. Not offensive, just a huge letdown.

mouthfeel: Wicked light and transparent.

drinakability: If you're looking for something a little different to quaff and forget, this is a reasonable alternative to Budweiser. Look elsewhere if you like complexity in a brew.

Sampled on 5-9-10

Pours a hazy golden color, with a foamy white head that quickly fades.

Smell is all ginger, a little spicy and sweet. Not much else, other than a subtle breadiness.

Taste is very bready and beery, with the ginger disappearing immediately. Not good.

Mouthfeel is decent, a nice thickness with good carbonation.

Drinkability is poor because the flavor is borderline gross.

Overall, this beer had potential, but the ginger just isn't strong enough. What's left is a marginal macro brew.

Served from a bomber at just below cellar temperature in a pint glass.

A - Pretty and bright burnt orange in color with a decent, fluffy head that diminishes rather quickly. No lacing at all, and no head remaining at the halfway mark, The color is really the only good thing about the look of this beer.

S - Obvious notes of candied ginger, but like good Jamaican ginger beer, not ginger ale. Also, there is a semblance of some sort of ambiguous fruit-juicy sweetness. Not a whole lot else that can be singled out. Ginger is a quite overwhelming scent. Good thing for this review that I happen to love ginger.

T - On the front of the tongue, there is a very quick, fleeting hit of sweetness like you'd expect from a ginger ale, but it doesn't last more than a moment. Immediately following comes a stringent, unbalanced mix of hops and ginger that accompanies odd notes of baby-aspirin, minus the sweetness. The finish is medium dry, and the aftertaste is medicinal and unpleasant.

M - Starts off with a whip of carbination that thankfully tames to creamy. The swallow is watery and fast. Nothing to write home about.

D - This beer is unbalanced and overall unimpressive, but interesting nonetheless. Unfortunately, this combination of traits is not good for drinkability, and I would not pursure this beer again.

22oz bomber into pint glass – Wondering how OLD this bomber is as it has the old labeling (which I did not know about at the time of purchase) and no dates. UH-OH….
A – Golden brown brew that has a slight haze, foamy head of 1+ finger dissipated to nothing quickly, no lacing 2.0
S – Yeasty toasted malts, grasses, slight herbal notes. 3.0
T – This is an old beer. There is some ginger, but it is too old & weak to make any statement here. I’ve had this brew before and this is not the experience I remember. Mayfair Liquors in Denver where I bought this will be hearing from me on the bad beer which I do not appreciate them passing off on me as quality product. Toasted malts, biscuit/yeast, and an off herbal/medicinal overtone. 2
M – 3
O – Disappointed Mayfair Liquors in Denver sold me this. Not a review that reflects this beer’s true quality/value. 2.0

Appearance: Pale orange. Nice 2 finger head.

Smell: GINGER, and crisp.

Taste: Overbearing taste of ginger. Lightly malted and a little spicy. Fits well in it's category but if gingers not you thing, you may want to steer clear.

Mouthfeel: Light and crisp, and well carbonated.

Drinkability: A great beer every now and again. A great beer to order at the local sushi bar.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold with a small white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is wheaty malts, ginger and some lemon and pepper.

The flavor is sweet vegetal malts and ginger with a kind of skunky slightly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation.

Overall, not very good in my opinion. The ginger is interesting but there are too many off-notes.

Poured into tulip glass - produces a 1 finger head that quickly dissapates into nothingness. No aroma of ginger, or anything discernable for that matter. Taste is a pretty bland ale - no "spice" or "ginger" that I can detect - must be so faint or sublime I just don't register it. Weak is the word. The bottle is dated best before 12/25/10 so I don't think it's a freshness issue. I just think this is really bland nothingness. Too bad - was hoping for some peppery zing or pop - JuJu is a real dud.

this beer is very weak. Not much of an Aroma. You can barely smell the ginger or anything else. Its almost like water. The taste is the same.

Take a bud lite and add a small amount of ginger ale is date this beer taste like. Will never drink again.

12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a nonical pint glass in me gaff in high altitude Castle Rock, Colorado. Expectations are below average; it's a ginger beer. Reviewed live.

Paired with pretzel rods.

Served straight from the refrigerator and allowed to warm over the course of consumption. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a half finger head of white colour, bad thickness, okay cream, and rather bad retention. Colour is a transparent light copper. No floating yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Ginger, tea, herbs, lime, and stale overdone malt. A pretty strong aroma, but far from an appealing one.

T: Ginger, herbs, clean malts, and a hint of artificial lime. Simple and poorly constructed. Structurally brief. Sans balance. Badly built, even for the style. Not at all complex or subtle.

Mf: Smooth and wet. A bit too thick. Sharp and overcarbonated. Doesn't suit the flavours all that well.

Dr: Drinkable but boring and bland. Not unique or special. Priced okay. I wouldn't have it again.

A poor candidate for aging.

About a finger of head with a medium golden liquid, head and lacing disipate quickly.
GInger very upfront in the aroma .
This flavor profile is just not for me the ginger is very strong and upfront, I usaly like left hand stuff, oh well glad it was just a single.

Poured pale golden with thin head that didn't last. I found a light honeyed quality on the nose but then a hint of those hockey pucks in the men's urinals. On the palate, the ureic element was there as the ginger just wenttoo far and evoked a urine quality. Too much ginger. Light otherwise, with little to enjoy if you don't dig the ginger whollop.

Pours a clear orange and brown brew.

Smell is sweet and syrupy with a mild ginger smell, reminds me of the Ginseng candy that oriental grocers sell.

Taste is malty and slightly hot from the ginger. The ginger taste is there but is weak.

Mouthfeel is there.

Yes this is very drinkable, but it isn't great either in the uniqueness or the overall experience departments. Not offensive, but not great either.

355ml served chilled in a La Chouffe tulip

Pours with a light amber body, lots of bubbles emanating from the bottom of the glass. Thick puffy white head with good retention, forms about half an inch thick but settles to a modest dense whisp. Lots of patchy lacing

Smell, fresh and pickled ginger, galangal and a touch of aniseed. Slightly spicy on the nose, some thin bready malt in the background and a tiny alcoholic aroma

Taste, crisp and biscuity malt followed by tonnes of fresh ginger flavours. Gingerbread and some slightly metallic malt character on the finish. Some identifiable hop character, some citric hop flavour and sweet malt

I have to admit that ginger is one of the few flavours that I've not fond of in food or beverages, subtle ginger flavours backed up by garlic or a strongly flavoured main ingredient are fine but if the dominant flavour is of ginger I'm generally put off. Thus this beer seriously doesn't do it for me, tthe myriad of various strong ginger flavours put me off therefore I didn't enjoy this. If you are a ginger fan especially a fan of non-alcoholic ginger ale then you'll probably go for this, but not me...

Hard pour brings a half finger of white big bubble head atop the dull wood fire colored brew...

You can smell the ginger right at the start, also white sugar and mint

Ginger root right in the front, and ginger root right in the back. Some mild malts as well. No hops bitterness, vegetable oil and tap water hmmm

Mouthfeel is watery with strong small bubble carbonation and a little staying power on the tongue

Overall I would say this had the potential to be good but instead it came out like taking a lame pilsner and soaking ginger rot in it. It meets its name but is not a repeat beverage for me.
