I was shocked to see the 78 rating on here. I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. Great ginger flavor. Not too much....not too little. Would I go out of my way for a 6 But I would definitely drink again.

Really nice job and creative beer. Not much in the way of aroma. As far as taste, the ginger is obvious without being over-powering. The finish is dry, not at all sweet.

Pours a nice deep golden color almost like honey in terms of color. Quite opaque with a small one finger head that fades quickly into nice lacing. The smell is light and somewhat floral with minor ginger notes. Tastes incredibly well-balanced between ginger, wheat, and hops. Nearly no hop bitterness at all and the ginger notes are present but not overpowering. The feel is slightly over carbonated for my personal preference but that didn't nor does it detract from the amazing qualities of this beer. Overall it's highly satisfying, low ABV and very refreshing. Not only would I have it again, I will have it again.

Crisp, light and refreshing ale that has a bready malt base and additions of ginger are subtle but noticeable. Could use a bit more in my opinion since I am a ginger fan. Hops are subdued in this beer. It has a light easy drinking body. I could drink quite a few of these. I will try it again for sure.

Picked up a single 12 oz bottle as a part of a build-your-own-sixer at my local Stein's Liquor. Best by date states it's still good for over two months. Poured right from the fridge into my pint glass.

L: Pours a crystal-clear medium amber with about a half-inch of eggshell head that dissipates fairly quickly down to nothing and leaves almost no lacing on the glass. Some lazy and intermittent visible carbonation.

S: Ginger root on top of cracker malts. There's a somewhat artificial quality to the bouquet--almost like the scent of some kind of air freshener or cleaning product--not completely off-putting. There's just a hint of other spiciness going on in the mix, as well.

T: There are some dry cracker malt notes at the outset, accompanied almost immediately by the taste of ginger. The middle sees the ginger flavor intensify, but there's also a sensation in the middle of tasting soap or cleaning product. Perhaps it's the dryness of the ginger flavor--it completely lacks sweetness--that lends the beer this artificial cleaner taste. The back end has more of the ginger and the cracker malts, with just a bit of cracked pepper spiciness.

F: A lighter-bodied beer, this one does feel a bit watery on the palate. The carbonation seems a bit low, especially as I get toward the end of the glass. It's also got some crispness, a touch of creaminess, and a very clean finish.

O: I'm a big fan of ginger ales--and ginger as part of cuisine--and I had some pretty high hopes for this beer. This was a unique tasting experience, to be sure. However, the artificial (I know this is brewed with actual ginger, but it smells and tastes artificial) and soapy quality of this brew is tough to get past.

A: Pours a copper color with a fingers worth of head that fades down to nothing after a minute

S: Ginger and bready malts up front along with hints of fruitiness

T: Follows the nose as far as the ginger, and then gets a bit watery. Some fruitiness does accompany the ginger, but that's about it

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Again, quite watery

O: A good lighter spring option, but only if you're into ginger. Hit what they were going for with the light beer with ginger, but it might be a little too light and lacking of other supporting flavors. A niche seasonal, IMO

I'll give them credit for trying something unique, but this is just horrible. After three sips, it starts to taste like a health food store. I support breweries taking risks and experimenting with ingredients, but this is a failure.

(Out of bottle)

For what it's worth, this is a solid beer for the price and what you're getting. Don't expect too much. It's a light, refreshing beer with just a hint of ginger that's not too overpowering. Nothing to write home about, but on a hot summer day, it's a good, drinkable beer and a little different.

L (4.25) - Much darker color than I was expecting, but clear. Bright fluffy white head.
S (4) - Not a lot of ginger aroma. A little bit of generic beer malty smell, but subtle all around.
T (4.25) - I barely taste the ginger. I was actually putting this one off, being worried about it. But the ginger was quite subtle. I almost get a honey and tea flavor profile. You can tell there's ginger in it, but I'm not going to call this ginger ale by any means!
F (4) - Good mouthfeel. Maybe a little light on the carb, but a nice easy drinking beer.
O (4) - As mentioned above, I was expecting more ginger flavor and was surprised. I don't mean that as an insult, as this beer was good. I'd buy this again for sure.

Maybe I just love the ginge, but I'm not hatin on this beer. For a summer refresher, you can do much worse. Much better than that root beer crap, this is like an alcoholic ginger ale. Maybe add some bourbon?

Light copper in color. Smells like ginger and ginger is upfront in the flavor profile. The finish is spicy and dry.

This offering is a bit gimmicky but it certainly makes for a refreshing summer drink.

Best by: 10/6/15.

Pours a clear golden-orange with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, earth, ginger juice, and candied ginger aromas. Taste is much the same with earth and candied ginger flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of ginger bitterness and heat on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid ginger qualities that are dominant in both the smell and taste.

Serving type: bottle.

Warm copper color, Ginger is huge. I'm liking it more as I drink it, but I think it needs food. Asian food would be great. I once heard that you should think of wine as a condiment for food, not a stand-alone beverage. I'm thinking the same thing about this beer.

Pours nearly the same color as a Vernors Ginger Ale with a 1” cream colored foam cap that quickly dissipates. Big ginger nose and it is also prominent on the palate and brings a little ginger heat. Light malt flavors provide support. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

Crystal clear coppery color with minimal head and lacing. Ginger is strong in the smell with subtle aroma hops peaking through. Ginger is almost non existing in the taste at first but picks up as you drink. Buiscuty flavors really dominate the taste department. Carbonation is high and the brew finishes dry. Not bad but I'd like to have a little stronger bittering hop presence, I think it would pair well with the ginger.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Sam Smith pint glass. Moderately assertive hand. Best by 08/26/15.

A: Pale copper body with good clarity. 1 finger of clean, white head. Good retention. Light lacing.

S: Wow, there is some ginger here. Slightly floral. Faint bread, cracker in the background. Black pepper. Lemon, citrus. I'll admit I was initially a bit off-put, but this one grows on you a bit.

T: A hint of hops before the ginger comes crashing in. An anemic malt presence briefly arises before the hops return for a bit of bitterness and a mostly dry finish. Lingering ginger on the palate. No alcohol of note.

M: Moderate carbonation with a distinctly light body. Could use a bit more substance, maybe?

O: Odd, but still comes off fairly quaffable. The ginger is resoundingly present, somewhat to the exclusion of everything else. By the end I appreciated it for what it is, but this is rather un-beer like.

Look: Nice clear golden yellow with a short white head that leaves good lacing

Smell: Very much ginger, light crisp malts

Taste: Ginger up front, light crisp malts, slightly bready finish

Feel: Light body, good carbonation

Overall: A good refreshing brew, nice alcoholic ginger ale. Not something I would have thought of getting, but it is good

Pours a light amber with a short-lived white head. A smear hangs on. The aroma is big ginger. The taste is big ginger. The feel has the ginger tingle (in addition to being a little thin). This is a ginger beer. If you like ginger, you'll probably like at least one. If not, don't get it.

I tend to like ginger beers, this one is completely different. Most are very sweet, this one is no wear near sweet, but still has a good ginger profile. I can see this being a great summer beer.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is very mild ginger, damn near odorless. Taste is ginger, a bit of malts, kind of on the light side. Feels light in the mouth and overall a refreshing beer, but not one I would need to buy again.

I can taste the ginger, but mixing it what is essentially a lager with a bitter after taste was not a good call. Good attributes, but something should be sweeter in the beer in my opinion.

Pours a clear bronze, leaves almost no head and what little it did disappeared immediately. No lacing except for a few islands.

Smell is definitely ginger-esque, and very appealing.

The taste is well balanced ginger hints alongside biscuity malt character. Almost no bitterness to be had. Taste stays the same from start to end. Not dry, but I wouldn't call it sweet either.

Light bodied, a little watery, but refreshing indeed. With it's low ABV, an easy beer to enjoy just to enjoy without worrying about over consuming alcohol.

I could see myself buying this again.

Quite a surprise! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Not too powerful on the ginger, nicely balanced. Faint smell of ginger and spice. Light and refreshing on the palate. Clean aftertaste. Bought this on a whim as a mixed 6er, wouldn't mind trying again, maybe while floating in the pool on a hot summers eve!

This beer is fantastic. I admit, I love ginger in pretty much everything, but among the many ginger beers I've tried, this is probably my favorite so far. It's not too sweet and has a great balanced flavor. Because it's not too overwhelming, I could probably pound an entire six pack in one sitting.

Your really have to enjoy ginger to like this beer. It is upfront and in your face, i am not a fan. Other than the ginger, there really isn't much else going on.
