Poured from a 13.65oz can with a best by date of 6/8/19; into a pint glass.
Appearance- pours a cola brown but sits darker in the glass; head is a medium thick creamy beige that leaves thick lacing half way down the glass!
Smell- chai, chocolate milk, mint and cinnamon!
Taste- the chai, mint and cinnamon stand out and any chocolate is hidden.
Feel - creamy and semi sweet; dry finish.
Overall- this is pretty simple, if you’re a fan of chai, you’ll likely enjoy this; if you’re not, this isn’t for you!

13.65 fl oz NITRO CAN nabbed as part of a 4 pack for $14.99 USD at a Whole Foods in Austin, TX.
"Milk stout nitro with aromatic spices." 5.0% ABV. 22 IBU. Brewed with malted barley, lactose, flaked oats, hops, spices, yeast."
Pours a soft creamy nitro head, 3-4cm in height. Body colour is a dull black. Head retention is good at ~7 minutes.
AROMA: Marvelous chai spice, chocolatey milky sweetness, lactose sugar. The chai comes off genuine and blends well into the milk stout profile aromatically...I hope the taste delivers on the promises of the aroma.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Creamy and soft from the nitro. Silky smooth, wet, and medium-bodied. The softness of the mouthfeel accentuates the luxurious chai spice. Chocolate malts and dark malts lend this its sweet backbone.
Some will find it too airy and thin from the nitro, and I have to wonder if it wouldn't be better if CO2 dispensed.
In any case, it's a simplistic beer but an effective one. Well-balanced, harmonizing chai spice and creamy stout notes to good effect. A bit lacking in terms of depth of flavour, but that the chai spice tastes genuine is an achievement in itself.
OVERALL: Okay, it's a bit of a gimmick beer, and I have to say the nitro widget is hurting more than it's helping, but it's an original premise for a beer and I'll enjoy finishing off the 4 pack I got. With more complexity, CO2 dispensing, and more vivid chai, this could really be a unique stout.

Poured into a 16 oz stemless Snulip glass, best before 5/21/20. Pours dark brown with a 1 inch light tan head that leaves thin wisps of lace as it slowly settles with solid retention. 4

Taste follows chai, almonds, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. 3.5
Mouthfeel is a touch thin, not dry, creamy, watery, and obviously no carbonation. 3.5
Overall I always expect big things from Left Hand dark beers, nope this one was a huge let down. 3.5

16oz nitro can poured into a snifter
A- pours black in color with a three-finger creamy off-white head that has great retention and lasts long after the pour
S- spices on the nose are similar to that of a pumpkin ale; nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. Undertones of allspice, clove and cardamon. Roasted barley, chocolate and milk sugars close it out
T- spice notes lead the way up front with flavors of nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and cardamon. Mid-palate brings out notes of chocolate, vanilla cream and milk sugars, The finish adds more spice, with an emphasis on cardamon and allspice. Lingers of chocolate and vanilla cream
M- medium body leads to a creamy and velvety mouthfeel that continues into a silky finish
O- I'm a fan of chai spices and this is works very well with an already solid nitro milk stout

Left Hand Brewing Company "Chai Milk Stout - Nitro"
13.65 fl. oz. can, "BEST BY:06/07/2019"
Look: Opaque black body beneath an inch of densely creamy tan foam. It looks like a Guinness Draught. It has excellent head retention and lacing.
Smell: Green cardamom comes through strongly, followed by cinnamon. There's also some clove and something a bit woody. Very little of the beer aroma makes it through.
Taste: As in the aroma, the spices dominate. Additional notes of ginger, star anise, vanilla, and orange come through. The sweet stout is a pleasant creamy base for the spice and lends some soft caramel and and a suggestion of roastiness to the mix.
Feel: Medium-light on body and creamy smooth.
Overall: For lovers of Chai spiced beverages this is probably a win, but for lovers of beer, even spiced beers, it's probably a bit much.

On nitro at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.
Pours close to pitch black, oodles of foam and lacing that you'd expect from a nitro.
Smells of chai tea, bits of lemon and ginger, maybe coffee but not sure on that.
Taste is sweet tea, ginger, lemon, interesting. One pint is enough but enjoyable for the one pint. Not a big fan of nitro so take that into account.

What a couple/few days it has been for me and for The CANQuest (tm)! I had just completed a Hooker horizontal, finishing with a Sweet Stout & I decided to CANcentrate on Stouts, which are outside of my hophead CANfort zone. I then segued into Flemish Reds & now I am finishing up with another Milk Stout.
From the CAN: "Stout with Spices Addeed"; "Super smooth Milk Stout Nitro with aromatic spices"; "Good to go from the CAN[,] Like a pro in a glass"; "22 IBU"; "Ingredients[:] Rocky Mountain water, Malted Barley, Lactose, Flaked Oats, Hops, Spices, Yeast"; "Employee Owned. Righteously Independent (tm)"; "Caution: Contents under pressure. Keep cold. Avoid shaking. Point away from self and others when opening."; Brewed on the banks of the might St. Vrain/Est. 1993".
The Crack! of the vent was met with a loud Psssshhh! as the N2 energized from within. This always strikes me as a tad disCANcerting, but I pressed on with an inverted Glug to ensure both a cascade & a nice head. It worked & settled into a finger of dense, foamy, creamy, light-tan head with very good retention. Color was Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose struck me as very spicy, especially with cinnamon, ginger and allspice, but I have not had Chai Tea in a while so I have lost that point of reference. Still, it smelled quite pleasant, especially since I am more into spicy and bitter than sour, tart or sweet. It was not as intensely spicy as either a Pumpkin Beer or many Christmas/Winter Beers, but it was still quite spicy. Mouthfeel was big, full & creamy, almost certainly having to do with the N2 charge. The taste was really pleasant! It was easy to identify it as a Sweet/Milk Stout, but the spices really brought an added dimension that elevated it above the norm. That makes it tough to rate to style, though & it might do better as the more general Herbed/Spiced Beer style. Just sayin'. Warming, the spices seemed to become more assertive, especially the cinnamon/ginger one-two CANbination. Wow! Finish was dry, which may seem CANterintuitive, but when spices are included in a beer's production, they tend to dry things out. The spiciness seemed to linger in my sinuses and I stand with reclassifying it as an Herbed/Spiced Beer.

Appearance: Pours a dark black, with a slight ruby highlight. Little head of khaki suds and no lace noted.
Aroma: Curious mix of spices. I get the chai way up front. Nice.
Taste: Smooth and very very chai-spiced. The nitro and oats make this one ultra-smooth with cocoa and mocha malts playing a back seat to the chai tea spice. If you like chai at all, this is a must-try. Left Hand doesn’t falter often, and this is a sure winner.

Surprised to find the ABV on this variant lower than the regular milk stout (6%)
A - Pours hazy dark black amber with a rocking two inches of creamy froth.
S - Smells of cinnamon, spiced ginger and sweet tea leaves.
T - Very much like the smell with the addition of lactose sugars and a touch of coffee roasts.
M - A bit light and thin but ow so creamy with the nitro.
Overall it's an interesting take on the regular milk stout but I would take the regular over this any day.

Best by 9/29/18. 13.65oz nitro-can poured into a pint glass. Pours almost black and does its "nitro magic" in the glass very well. Creamy khaki head that stays put. The aromas are spice forward. Chai, cinnamon and nutmeg lead the way. Hints of chocolate as well. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose for the most part. The spices definitely lead the way. Strong chai notes. More cinnamon and nutmeg along with some ginger and all-spice. Some chocolate along with some subtle hints of vanilla. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is what you would expect from a nitro beer. It's light, thin and watery with no carbonation, but it still has some body to it.
This is a nice nitro beer. They nailed the nitro aspects. The chai and spices shine and aren't shy. They deliver on exactly what they're selling.
